There here for a reason, if you dislike the cause, you can refrain from posting in the thread. It's a topic I'd like more people to possibly participate in, and it's doing fine, so chill. Not every thread on the forums needs to end up in an arguement...

Got mine way back in 6th grade...hmm...so 5 years ago. We had to write a book and I needed a name for the guy. I went on some fantasy name generator and got something like Alarn. I took that and made it into "Alarid" (uhl-are-id). As for "Bluemoon" that came from the single server classic graal. With all the Starbreeze's running around I wanted a last name of my own. So I thought of a few and mass msg'ed a little poll on which I should use.

I liked to play AoE at the time... I liked the Turks...

So tURK became zURK. The Iba came because I wanted a more 'Arabian' name to it.

Warhare comes from my last name Harris, with a general love... war.

Warhar goes to Warhare.

I basically made up my name with twelve years of age while creating yet another character for DSA, some roleplaying system. As I had no friends, and even more currently was travelling by ship down that river seperating Germany and France, all I could really do was creating characters.
Then, soon after we got home again, I discovered the magical wonderland that is known as the internet, and quickly made it to a chatroom related to a particular disney cartoon I like pretty much. I first used another name, Xiang, supposedly a chinese word, that I took from a book by Michael Stackpole, but forgot the password to that one rather quick. Thus I used Loriel. Which stuck.
Sometimes playing less fantasy-like games, Loriel does not really fit, thus I assembled another name, 'Loren Kalmar', out of parts from the same book series that I took my very first name from. Lor(iel|en) are pretty similar, too.
I have started to more often use my real name, shortened to Ben, in some less RPy occassions, but I still like the sound of Loriel, although many people seem to think of it as female or shampooish

Smile lockeboy

All right. My first account here was "Locke_boy". I don't know why I wrote it as that, because I prefer it written as "lockeboy". I think that at the time I was overly into proper grammar, and I didn't realize you could have a space in your account name. I'll explain how I got "lockeboy" in a moment, because this account's easier to explain.

Heiwaronsha was a screenname I used on AIM after I stopped using "punk rawk locke" (which I sort of miss, even though I'm more into trance nowadays). It's Japanese for "Pacifist" which is what I am. I can get angry sometimes, but I'm all for peace when it comes down to it.

Anyway, back to lockeboy. When I was younger, around 12 or so (I may be a bit off, but it doesn't matter much), my parents went out to dinner with another couple. We (my sister and I) stayed at their house with their children, a boy around our age and a girl a bit older, who was to be the babysitter. I ended up spending almost the entire time there playing a game called "Final Fantasy 2" on the SNES (was totally new to me at the time). It was utterly addicting. Not too long after that, I wanted to get it for myself. I found out you couldn't buy it anywhere anymore, so I went to FuncoLand (buy/sell/trade used games). The guy there recommended Final Fantasy 3 instead, and I bought it ($60 for just a game cartridge, heh). I loved the game, and I still do. My favourite character turned out to be Locke, the thief (I RP a thief character because of him). This isn't how I got lockeboy, though.

Much later, in my freshman year of high school, I joined a club, and met a senior there who was also interested in FF3. On that particular day, I had a little padlock around my neck, on my chain, that my friend had lent to me. We were talking about Locke, and how he was my favourite character. He noticed I also had a lock around my neck, so he called me "Locke boy" (or "lock boy", however you'd like to spell it). I liked the nickname, so when I made a LiveJournal not much later that year, I used that for my username. Ever since Ed (the boy I met) called me that, it's been my nickname. Oh, this is also why, if you look at any of my old posts on my Locke_boy account, my avatar is a padlock.

When it comes to my RP names, I have a lot of them. The one I use now is Jesse Violaceous Frostwind. It's based off of Locke Violet Frostwind, a character I RPed while part of Dustari. Jesse is my real name (er, sort of), and "Violaceous" means "pertaining to the order plants of which violet is the type". I liked the way it sounded, and since I didn't want them to both have Violet as their middle name, I thought it fit well. Locke I got from Locke Cole of FF3, Violet is my favourite colour, and Frostwind is a last name I adopted from my friend Bitty (account sageofthehalo). Before I had Frostwind, I would go by Locke Cole. I didn't like that, though, because it was highly unoriginal, so I would just go by Locke, most of the time. A few other names I've gone by are "Regnir Emulov Tesd'nah" (the first RP name I ever used, but I added the middle name later), "Haruichiban Seichi", and "Heiwaronsha Seichi". Seichi means "Delicate, subtle", something I felt applied to me well. There are a lot of other names and nicknames I've gone by, but I think I've written enough already. x.x;;

Nova was the first alias i went by when i first logged on the net back in the early 90's it refers to a latin term and since i have acknowledged it as not only a net alias but my nickname and alias for most personal e-mail, gaming or any related net accounts. I further more founded Nova Group 4 years ago which managed a online game i developed (Netwars) which was featured in PC Gamer and Wired magazine most of my friends IRL call me Nova aswell and its tattoed for all of eternity on my left arm soon ill get falling matrix code tattoed around it in black and then the edges will be touched up with a new glow in the dark tattoo ink .

Nova Since 1984 A.D.

A new star, usually appearing suddenly, shining for a brief period, and then sinking into obscurity. Such appearances are supposed to result from cosmic collisions, as of a dark star with interstellar nebulosities.

More Nova Facts:
Nova is one of the few names which can be root of 1337 and can aswell be cyphered in DES in 1337 char's exactly.

Nova is a popular name world-wide in australia their is a radio station named Nova :P and Operation Nova was a big crackdown by U.S. feds in 2000 to track down hackers world-wide.

AskNova.com a project/DBA of Nova Group will soon be a robust search engine for geeks around the world the project currently sponsored by members of the board of Hurricane Electric (HE.NET) and the U.S. Small Business Administration. (US SBA Issued Nova Group a SBA Grant & Loan)

My name is from DBZ as well, but I didnt choose it, so don't think I am a DBZ fanatic or something. In fact, I never liked Nappa (the character) From DBZ, so think of me as someone else with the same name :P

How I came to get the name:

Around 6-7 years ago, maybe longer, I forget really, I first got a computer. My dad got this strange thing called "AOL", which I went on. I went into a DBZ Chat accidently, and saw people sim fighting, and I liked it. So I then asked what was going on, and I got cursed out of the chatroom. I then did some DBZ Research and turned into "Zarbok" Or something similar, after the blue guy from DBZ. I learned a little bit of skills, though I still sucked. Then some guy asked me to join his clan, called "UDF", and when every other name was taken(yes very popular), he told me to make my name "Nappa". So I changed my AOL name to UDF Nappa, and thats how this name came to be.

On a side note, I started typing around 150 WPM or so, and later went on to single handedly destroying UDF.

Another side note:

I got TOS'ed and banned from AOL forever for cursing at many people. My friend "Solid Snake 316" Showed me this chat room where they simmed and I went there, and beat everyone up. After being an avid member of this chat place for a few months, a certain man named "Dark Templar" Changed his name to "Sephiroth" and fought against me. He kicked my ass, and we were long time enemies. Then the chat fell, and we were real good friends. I showed him this game we call Graal, and he now goes by the name "Tseng".
