Okay, Soala it is beautiful. The screenshot itself made me say "Dang..." The whole concept is something I wanted all along. Will baddies be all over the place? Like you could find invaded towns with them or in like forests and everything? The GFX, clothes and graphics looks very nice. Amazing idea and I'm glad something is finally being made into production. Bravo, look forward to playing it, maybe becoming a Non-Dev staff when it finally releases and is done.

(No offence to GK) Make sure the swords look epic. Also, you know how players in GK hold their swords? They look kind of pathetic in GK with swords equipted? Like they are begging to get slashed through their chest. In Ruins, please make the players have a cool fighting stance when they equip their swords and maybe put the sword on sort of an angle, so it looks like the character is also trying to defend himself. Again, only trying to make the server better and have some of those very interesting and nice looking smallish details.

An idea for the combat (When you slash things, when you both slash, fighting other human enemies) Like when you slash at a baddy, they should fight back and when both of your swords or other weapons collide, you should make effects like sparks flying. If you slash another human or other monster, blood should flush out and make it look cool and interesting. Also make the combat look menacing and not like a weakish slash like GK. No offence to GK. But make the slash look cooler with cooler looking ganis and stuff so it really looks interesting to players and not dull like GK's (Again no offence to GK)

Just checking, quests also give you a little money too, right? The only thing I think should be improved is the jobs. Maybe add more things besides the mining for ores? Mining is definitely a good and original idea, but I think you could possibly add some other things for jobs. I'm sure that you could think of a few other interesting ways to make money besides the one you just listed. Again it sounds amazing.

Can't even describe how beautiful the screenshot looks on the Login page...it just looks so nice and just promises me success for the server and says it is fun as hell.

Don't worry about that.

On another note: Some of you are wondering what will happen next the pre-opening. The answer is quite simple: a beta test!
The beta test is planned between 2 or 3 weeks after the pre-opening.

Finaly, make sure to join this group to support me! It always help to see that some people appreciate what you're doing!

Ya we need more servers like this! Esteria and Eden should do it just like this one!

Soala, just add some elements of gameplay that some of the Zelda games had to Ruins. Only you must make them more modern because you can. Remember those were done on the NES and SNES I think. Just make Ruins have the same concept and idea but apply it with more detail and make it better. Don't keep it looking like it's on the NES completely.

lol i kind of know what you're thinking soala. i.e not wanting to corrupt your chain of thoughts etc (i'd do the same if i was managing a server or working on a project) but tbh theres 0 point in aiming for a "gold" server. that label was tried and failed, resulting in only cyberjoueurs' own servers being placed there.

that news screenshot looks beautiful, just hope the outside tilesets matches.

They do. As far as I can tell, it's all old Esteria and Crystia stuff.

I know, which is why I may finaly decide to put it on the classic tab, if I'm allowed to (though Stefan will have the last say on it).

Yes, a bunch of Crystia's stuff are used, and Angelu came to give me a bunch of images too, so I thought I'd give it a go since they are all wonderful.

I should probably add that the old Ruins using pics1 was beautiful too, but really, Patrick (patrick_is_here) my LAT did a wonderful job on the outside maps, and most insides are Angelu's ideas and concepts, following my instructions.

I fully agree with you, but well, some people already seen what it would look like, which is why they are referencing the content I'm using.
The content wasn't used at all, so I gave it a go and finaly made a real opportunity to use them at worthwhile ends for everyone to enjoy, giving the server my personal touch aswell.
Apart from the tileset and some images, most icons, swords and other things we don't have yet, will be mostly made by me. I can't do much on the graphics part at the moment since I'm busy leading the operations to build everything up correctly.

Soala, could you make me a cool outfit as well? Description of the Outfit I would like: Hair like your Avatar picture, the one with the black hair and black outfit with the sword. Only I want the hair blue. Make a black shirt that is kind of baggy for him and white, baggy pants. And also put a red, longish band on his waist. Please make this outfit for me, I would really appreciate it when I finally get to play Ruins. Make his skin color like the guy in your avatar and give him somewhat bold looking eyes. I will make the different clothes, hair and eventualy heads as long as they fit the server.
The example of Zack/Cloud is perfect if you want to know, so I might do that somewhat soon.

We currently have only one female hair, and it looks quite ugly, so I might end up taking some of GK's hairs and apply them to our template for now, I wouldn't want to offense the female players by forcing them to be a boy

I am fully in love with the concept of this server as I had very similar ideas brainstormed up at one point. The look of the server is very nice and I enjoy the use of those types of bodies. Very interested to see where this goes and to try out some game play!

We currently have 10 different hairs and 15 heads available.
We plan to add a skin color selection later on, so nobody is excluded from the game

Ruins is almost ready to open!
I will finaly open the server tomorrow (August 4th) at 10:00 AM (GMT+1)
I think that makes it 4:00 AM for people living around Washington or something like that.. well I can't convert time for everyone!

Anyway, there are currently 3 insides you guys will be able to check, the day/night system is not completely ready but you should be able to test it by saying /testdn.
You will be able to visit the first village, called Narwa, and also visit a cave where 3 different instructors will tell you more about the server, the map, the future gameplay and so on!

Switch and I are currently working on giving you guys an opportunity to try out one sword, not by equiping it (the backpack system is not done yet) but by saying a command too: /testsword.
(the sword on my avatar, if you want to know!)

I don't understand what you're opening really as there is nothing to do at all. What I did see however is Esteria's tileset, but with no real charm like there was on Esteria. The tiles are not going to work for themselves, you need to create an atmosphere in the levels like Crow and Angelu did. Nothing else to say really, but maybe because I've seen it all before.

Well, I opened the server more to take a pause and get feedback before going in any further development. I was waiting for constructive, which I did get

The tileset is still being worked on. The animations were temp as I needed something quick just to give players something to hold in their hands. Most of them will be re-done/improved.
The windows frames are not supposed to be yellow on day but that's because of the current unfinished day/night system.
I am also considering reworking the first island, and most of images were temporary too (finish this damn tree Elk

).

What I love the most is the Character Creation system, it is incredible.

I loved your inside levels, they had a very nice feeling. I'm totally loving the characters as well, great work even though it's the "gold" sprites. I was very disappointed when I walked outside though, it has nothing of the charm I experienced before going out. Very different styled tiles, boring levels and simply a badly designed island.
