I just find it hilarious that some of you try to make reasons why changing GK would be a bad thing and offer no better ideas yourself, sure it could lose all 10-15 of it's older players but big deal, alot of players left because of real life issues i guess, while still others had their fun on GK and don't really care anymore since there are few good ideas put into the server.

As in the past there have been plenty of ideas and thoughts to make GK a little different, or maybe more enjoyable, but those ideas we're rejected by the whiners that had it all and did not care enough about the server to look past those items because they "worked too hard for it", and that's damn selfish, you can get it back right? Or are you too lazy? Too bad, life goes on.

I could bring up alot of older posts and some of us can look at the older ideas once again, maybe you have changed your minds after awhile, and if you don't have ideas to HELP GK instead of wanting things to sit there and rot then just don't complain too much, it really does not help fix the problem.

Why should they have to do all that work again, to achive what they had before. Its the people that are moaning because theres better people than them and they want a reset to be equal..
Okay, so Graal Kingdoms gets reset. And then 5 years down the line. A post like this will start again because they will people better than others.

I really don't know how to respond to this comment at all, it's the very same one that pops up when the word "reset" is spoken and it's not too helpful really, so what if a reset happens? Some of you quit for good because of it? Been nice knowing you......or not, depends on the person.

Things can change, sometimes for the best, sometimes for the worst, i'm hoping it's safe to say everyone, and i mean everyone that's posting here did their share of hard work to make an accomplishment, sure it sucks knowing you would have to start over, but it's not about where you are, it's about how you got there.

Look at all the great memories and pictures and stories that are posted on how someone got their first major event item (the waraxe from and event long ago) and how good it felt, or how great it was finally being able to bless +5 (it was a big deal for the first few people that managed this).

Now look at today, how many people are celebrating whatever? There's nothing amazing happening, there's no excitement in GK right now, it's boring everyday routine now. "Time to log in and PK someone.(masternuke)" or "Time to login and see if i can do ten laps around main in a minute this time.(googi)" really groundbreaking day there huh? This is what the whole thread is about to me, nothing exciting happens anymore, and some people are asking for some kind of change, if it's new content added, or even a reset so you can make all new memories, but just doing nothing has gone on long enough.

What if they only made it classic for about a month and then back to the gold list? Some people might like it enough to upgrade to gold.

What would be so great with Kingdoms was Classic?
th Only thing that would increase is the playercount

the system of Kingdoms is just imbalanced players would leave in maximal 1 year again

and why should people actually start on a server where other players abused a bug to reach the highest lvl on Phys magic etc..
the Economy sucks to u have to farm like 900 Diamond to get something n1
I mean wtf...

@ googi.. there alot of FREE mmorpgs but if u want something u gain more Exp or get a item u have to pay cash.. i think that would be the only opion.. btw why do u care about the profit of graal?

Actually last I checked a ton of people wouldn't be re-upgrading. So even a month on classic to show people what its like might bring in new people.

I support the idea of making it classic for a month or so. That would bring in players.

Classic GK would definately help. Would get players hooked, but it would have to be reset for classic, would be retarded with the current itemization.

To 'fix' GK you'd pretty much need a whole new system. Not just a reset.
I'm willing to bet my pants that the administration would much rather leave GK as it is and let it die/update it yearly, than starting on a new big project.

Well if Bjorn would actually hire ppl rather then wanting to do it himself or asking people to do stuff and submit it then maybe we would have some new content. I had to talk to stefan just to be able to design a new dungeon for gk. When i get back I have to make more maps for it still.

And now we're back on square one.
"He has to hire new people to work on stuff" that's what we've said.. err like the past 3-4 years.

So yeah.. We're pretty screwed if you ask me.

Reset solves nothing until the server is fixed. History repeats itself. I think it is too far beyond. The game is not balanced, there is not enough to do, the classes mean nothing. Get some professions, more item drops, and a larger amount library of items at that.

Either that, or just delete it and work on G3D.

The only way sensible enough to fully fix kingdoms is to completely rehaul the mudlib to include different things and a few new functions concerning the way things are handled gamewise methinks with all the complaints concerning balance and such with items or so. The calculations could be a bit better.

But I'm really going off hear say.

75% of the people who wan't a reset don't even play. So why do you care?
Do you just want to ruin the game for the people who already play it?

No. I'm not trying to antagonize players at all, but I think a reset would be beneficial. (thought after returning recently, it's not as necessary for some of the reasons i used to think- that is, other reasons may still not make it necessary, but one or two, or HALF of the reasons i used to think of aren't really as applicable... this still sounds confusing, so what i mean is- some thing(s) have improved... )
But I guess you're referring to the ones who don't play? I do play.

True, true.. Stefan has nothing to gain from reseting the server. And he will get around to updates. Firstly he's just working on the Guest account system.
Then he'll get back to updating the server.

Personally I would like a reset, it would balance everything but for only so long because there is more that needs to be fixed than updated. The classes you pick only matter up to level 6 because of the starting items that you use to level. After that you can buy a talisman or scroll of piety. I don't know about you all but I can't stand having powerful characters because it make the game too easy and there is no challenge. If there was a reset, how about just modifying the the items a little so that it wouldn't exactly be the same all over again.

But It wouldn't balance everything out. Because eventually, this will all happen again in a year or so. No matter what game you play it's "unblalanced" because there is always players who've played longer and are better. I bet you guys don't e-mail the owner of WoW and tell him reset the whole server.

Preist can use heal, anyone can really. But since the party system only works up to level 20 there is little point.

Another valid point of why there should be a reset.

You argue saying that older players will always have the advantage. It's fine for people who have been playing longer to have the advantage of... well, playing longer. But nothing else should come with it.

For example, when you couldn't use recipes to make alchemy weapons/armour... I used to argue saying that it was unfair because people had already made them through random alchemy, and Stefan disabled that. Then these items that people had made fairly easily had become rare and expensive. The same applied to ice daggers, and still does. And these made up the best items of the game.

Obviously, things are different now for alchemy. But the ice daggers still apply. And now it applies to levels. Wasn't that level 20 limit on the party system just added not too long ago? Think about everyone who got to use it before and leveled way past 20... now consider people who want to level up now past 20... They don't have it as easy.

Also, wasn't there some bug that people used to level up? Or maybe more than one bug? I don't really know much about it... but there goes something else.

And finally, the alchemy platinum--->gold--->more platinum bug from some years ago. Anyone remember that? People could have saved up millions of platinum coins doing that bug. That plat could still be in our GK economy. Think about how that would effect everyone.

I don't know how other MMORPG's are, but I know that players who have been playing longer should only have their advantage because they've put in time and effort into leveling. Not because they used bugs, or because things were removed that helped those players out.
