The first part is true. I highly doubt that the second part is. I don't think there's a lot of players who make a connection between age and authority on Graal.

Pretty much a ripoff of what curt said. PLAGIARISM.

This is true. It is also hard to make a connection between age and maturity on Graal. (See the quote below for an example)

It's easy to forget what was said in the third post after reading through the entire thread. It is for me, anyway. I won't do it again, sir!

I think it's the other way around. Players take an authority figure and make a connection to their age. As Apothix said, he's turning 19 soon, but as PWA I've been criticized more than once for being "too old" to play this game, etc, and I'm 19.

As has been said countless times already, I think it's your attitude that gets you judged into the like/dislike piles. Once you're there, people will say anything if they think it might get to you.

I doubt even a single person has said to their friends outside of the community "Ugh! There is this older player on Graal..." etc

Oh oh, look everyone! Malinko's doing a trick! Oh wait... it's the same trick.

People attack other people without any good reason alot. Most of the time we're just kidding. So few older players and so many jokes at older players. WeAllLuvULongTimeGrandma

In terms of younger players, I think the media has a lot to do with it. If you think about it, there is always something on the news about pedophilia, and I should imagine that kids around the Internet are often warned by their parents these days to be very weary of such. Children and younger players probably think that they are slightly at risk by being around adults in a game environment which they thought was just for children.

I'm not accusing any adult on GraalOnline of being a pedophile, but I think it is probably a reflex action for kids to display negativity to adults around Graal because they were so regularly warned by parents.

Then again, I am sure that you would do exactly the same to your kids.

I am slightly suprised that this is the first time this has been mentioned in this thread, and I do agree that kids should always be cautious.
I don't, however, think they should be downright rude and disrespectful.
They should definately be extremely careful as to what information they give out about themselves all the time.
Someone could say they are 13, and be 40. I am sure everyone here realizes that.

Yes, I have taught my kids to be extremely careful on the internet (whether they do or not is a whole different story), but I have also taught them to be respectful towards everyone, regardless of age, race, disability, etc...
Just to be careful as to not give out information about themselves which can be used to find them.

I have admitted I was wrong many times.
Also, I have made up no rules at all for Graal, so I don't know where you get that from.

I am not sure how things are in many places across the world, but here, that teaching of respect and such I think is often neglected by parents. Around here, over 80% of the youths are delinquant and abusive, and I guess those same traits transfer across to online games.

This is true. Moon Goddess rarely completely creates new rules. Rather, she simply claims that something violates an existing rule when it in fact does not.

Obviously it will be deleted if I post about it on the forums. Want me to forum PM you some examples of moderations provably inconsistant with the rules?

Ah, yeh not made up my mistake, but perhaps stretched the meaning of rules to a point where they don't seem like the same rule anymore.

This thread is not even about the forums, or my position here, or have you not been reading?

It is pretty much the same here, sadly.
I'm not going to say it is the parents fault, because obviously, every situation is different.
All us parents can do is our best, and hope for the best outcome.

The trick is to tell your kids to be disrespectful, and the age-old teenage rebellion will kick in and they will do the exact opposite! Sure-fire plan, never fails.

Reverse Phsycology (sp) might work for some things. Teenagers are not stupid, and that will not work.
But, I assume that you already know this.

I havent been reading what so ever to be quite honest. I just took an opurtunity to say stuff about you cause I felt like it.

I will admit I read the first post though and the ones after mine.

Hey, I was just saying not everyone dislikes you because of your age. Hell, not everyone dislikes you and don't say players dislike you for your age it's sorta an escape from admitting that some people actually don't like you for who you are and not how old you are.

This I know.
I realize that there are people who dislike me for other reason, but that is not the purpose of this particular thread.
The purpose of this thread is to see why players seem to dislike when older adults/parents play Graal, why they harrass them for their age, and so on.
If I am disliked for other reasons, then you have no reason to post in this particular thread.

I am very disappointed in some of the members of these forums. I mean, I start a thread about a certain thing, and some of you turn it into something else, attack other members, use it as a way to attack me, etc...

This thread was for a specific purpose, which I am not even going to bother to explain again.
I do thank those who actually supplied an answer to the question, and who did not use it as an excuse to flame me, or used someone elses post to flame another member.

Nah, that was another one of his elaborate lies. Also featured in that lie is the modification of Kara's age. I believe he went around telling people that she is 18 or 19.

IMO, you asked for it when you made a thread with the topic "y r ppl h8'n on me?!"

I am really curious as to why players feel this way, and if there are any other older adults that play that receive the same treatment.
If that wasn't your intention, then don't fill your post with personal pronouns and ask why players are treating you that way. The reason I bolded an underlined the 'and' is because you are signifying that that is additional feedback that you would like from people, and not your main point.

Pay close attention to the age reference in that post.
I dont want to know why people hate me, I did not ask that.
I asked why some members have a problem with my AGE, or other peoples AGE.

I realize that there are people who dislike me for other reason, but that is not the purpose of this particular thread.
The purpose of this thread is to see why players seem to dislike when older adults/parents play Graal, why they harrass them for their age, and so on.
If I am disliked for other reasons, then you have no reason to post in this particular thread.
lol you shutup I have every right to post here. Why? Cause I damn well feel like it. You see there's others that are more off topic then me here yet you come to me first because it was directed at you.

Perhaps they think all old people act like you act and that's why they don't like you. Perhaps it's because they come on the internet/games to get away from adults and escape reality and you bring back some sense of it back into the game?

Darlene, I think people use your age as an excuse to let you know about other reasons why they dislike you. I highly doubt it is solely because you're older than everybody else. So yeah, I agree with the people who said things like that.

Houdini, I also doubt people hate you for age, but rather how you act in-game.

Also, Darlene, didn't you have a daughter that played Graal (Princess-something)? Just wondering.
