Graal.. And it' addiction

I don't know if this has been posted and/or talked about before. But I'm curious. Why is Graal so addicting? I know I'm addicted and tried quitting 2-3 times and failed each. Longest I've ever got was 1 month .So I'd like to hear your guys' point of view on just why Graal is so addicting.

My main reason is because Graal is based off social aspects, and I love games like that. Also the various options in playerworlds. Graal is the kind of game I've always looked for. Allowed to make your player do whatever they want on game, and almost hardly restricted. This is one main reason I'm addicted. Not to mention I enjoy working on servers haha.

I know some of you have already quit and have beat the hidden power. Fill us in on how haha. Not that I wan't to quit. Just when I'm ready to quit.

But I know you Graal people like to argue alot, but please be mature about this post lol, and just let us know why you feel Graal is addicting and why you're addicted?

because the things you do (for example: era, to make money, get gunz, businesses) for Graal2001 (to get hats, money, dolls, items, better bamboo sticks, money, money, sword)

i guess maybe becuase people are really social? small community, everyone knows everyone.. its nice, fun thing to goto after school or work

The only reason I'm always on is because I'm afraid to miss out on a good deal on GK.

graal's world is actually alive, even if peopel complaina bout scammers etc. theyre still part of that world, an so it's like a whole other life, you can be somebody on graal while youre nobody in real life, personally i simply enjoy talking to people, my favourite button is the F7 button

Only with cigarettes, atleast they have that smooth menthol taste. When's the last time you fired up a Graal? They should start selling Graal brand cigarettes in the Graal store. VIP cartons: $19.95 Gold: 29.95

Back on topic: Graal isn't addictive but its people are. I only stick around for the cool people (#gscript for example).

It's all about the social aspect of it. It gives you quick access to tons of random people that you may or may not already know. I stuck around for a bit only to talk to some people, and then I stopped playing and strictly coded, so it was still social and talking to people but didn't have to actually be on player and could work :P

It's easily manipulated to a degree... You can sneak your way in and tug on the strings ever so slightly in hopes that it will persuade things to go your way... Or you could shell out a C note and have power poofed into you hands.

All MMO's which allow you to advance in the community are addictive.

Graal is actually much less addictive than most other games, however the fact that you can put it down for a few months and pick right back up where you started with no real loss gives it long term playability.

No one will outlevel you/outprofit you, ect.

I never played this game in a very long time. I'm a smoker, and Graal is more addicting then that. Sorry.

Graal and it's predecessors have been around for nearly 8 years, I've been hanging on to it for almost as long. Why? I think I know, but only time will tell.

What kept me playing so long was the competition of sparring, pking, and playerworld development. After a few years and the beginning of p2p it all went down, and I lost interest.

I sort of grew out of the game, and then got a car and a job so my time went into something else I found to enjoy more than Graal. I still post here I guess cause some of that addiction is still there. I'm curious to know what new cool thing will come to graal, if ever.

Lol, so in other words, he said he does not know why.

I too am a Graalaholic..or whatever. I have been around since 1999. I played Enigma and all those good servers before P2P. Then P2P came out and I quit...for like 10 days then continue playing on my account that was FREE. Then I left for like a year then bought a new account. Then I left..then came back. Its a Vicious cycle, this graal. The main reason I play is becuase there is nothing else to do. Also, graal always seems to get me into other things: Graphics, Flash Websites,...Scripting..which I suck at. I Guess Graal is an all around good game and is addictive.

here's my solution for breaking the graal habit.

1: break your computer.

2: come back to graal a couple years later.

3: discover that your server has been raped and pillaged by LATs and all your favorite places are gone and replaced by inane player houses made by people you've never heard of.

4: upon closer inspection notice that none of your old friends play anymore, largely in part due to the above reason.

5: delete graal.

6: check in on graal every few months to see if it has been fixed. be dissapointed every time.

i found that worked pretty good for me.

another good tactic that can be used in conjunction with the above method is to replace the graal addiction with another addiction such as alcahol or drugs.

Hmm. It's something to do when you're bored. I guess it's fun to come on and be an ass to everyone that's in-game when you have nothing else to do. As long as you have an actual life that's not Graal, then it's fine to play once in a while. Lolol.

I pretty much quit Graal until I was approached to be LAT Admin on Classic. There's another game that VIE dumped into the players' domain that I find quite a bit more addicting, but I am addicted to server developement as well.

Graal is addicting because you can play how you want, on many servers. you can become part of the game.
