Simple Problems!

Well, as we all know the economy is ****ed.
We see diamonds going for 700 plat.
The shops don't sell any type of scroll what benefit people, Piety, Literacy, Missile Weapons, etc.
The staff tells us to mine for Diamonds, yet we obtain 1 diamond per hour from mining. We can get diamonds from Trex, Skeletons yes, but it should be easier to obtain them from mining.
You ask why they should be obtained from mining?
Well, right now everything on GK is based upon Player Killing. What would you rather do? kill or mine? Obviously you would want to kill. What I am saying is; it should be equal.
How can we stop Player Killing (PKing) taking over GK?
Well, we can stop this. Make more use to the jobs.
Mining:
  • Basic Minerals (Iron, Coal, Gold etc)
  • Basic Crafting Items (Pliers, Pickaxe, shovel etc)
  • Random baddy
  • Pets!
At level 110 why do you need to do this job? What makes you want to mine at level 110, nothing. Why do you need the basic minerals at level 110? Would you need the basic crafting items? Pets are made in some mines across the over world. Only cause lag.
Overall: Make use to mining.
Tree Cutting:
  • Making Boats
  • Making Boards
  • Tree Seeds
  • Random Items
Making boats is pretty useful, but only for kingdom leaders (Not just the owner of the kingdom, the top ranks). Making boards for arrows, we have a spell these days; make the arrows more useful from making them this way. Tree Seeds; obtain the boards for making the arrows + boats.
Overall: Make use to Tree Cutting.
Monsters:
  • Trex
  • Lords
  • Maps: Brutals/Immense
  • Random Items
You obtain items from each one of these, Trex you can get diamonds, maps and random parts of the body. Lords, depends on the lord; you use these items for questS. Maps, a lot of random items, same usual enemies. Suggestion: Make more enemies. You have a whole lot of Graal Kingdoms staff, not much is being done.
Overall: Make more monsters.
Businesses:
  • Bomboria Pub
  • Post Office
  • Item Making
  • Bakery
Make the players run a business, a bit like the pub. But alot more action, I don't see how the pub is worked but it shoud all be realistic. I mean not the 'Buy pizza' ****, more of a role play type thing. Make the dough, put tomato, cheese, toppings and then take it to a table and lay it. Make the people pay also. Easily be done and will bring alot more fun into GK.
Actuall ways of making cash, there is no real way to make cash on GK. You either have to sell items to the players, or to a shop. Make like a post office to deliver items to certain shops across the overworld, or even to the houses on the kingdoms.
You don't have to use any of these ideas, but do something useful.

We could remove the food restoration from the restore spell so you need to get food in another way. Also the ammy of substance could loos some points. Or just make it so you have to eat more. Don't ask what's with the create food spell.. I have no idea Disable ?
And if you need to eat you need something to eat. So what do you do? You farm and make something or buy something in the pub

No,removing restoration isn`t kosher, but the restore prayer could be made so you gotta be like lvl 18-20 wisdom to use it.

The main problem for food are the shell bomies I guess, you can get "food"-items from them too easily in my point of view. They should drop something that gives less food points.

For the mining we have planned that you need to repair weapons from time to time to be able to use them again. Also it can be possible to let pets do jobs for you so that it is less boring.

Pets die way too fast. I feed my pet and I go to sleep with it being 100% con, and I just get out of school, log on, and my pet is dead. I cant magically feed it while I'm at school :/

And the restoration spell should not restore food. If it did not restore food, then the pub would have more of a purpose.

Yes Bjorn, let's start disabling things to fix things. You're a goddamn rocket scientist.

I disagree with what you think people do at higher levels. I make 5k plat from sellables, ~25 diamonds, ~3 brutals, and ~100 other gems per hour when I have the time and the adequate area. With this money, I overpay newbies for mined goods. With these minerals, I keep my playerhouses maintained.

Lets think about the trees thing. Does the average person actually need THAT much wood to maintain what few wood products they carry? Take a minute to think... are plain wood arrows better than magically created arrows? No. If you want to do something right, listen up. Change "create missile" to "enchant missile" and have it enchant wooden arrows. Also, please check the scripts to see if enchantments on arrows actually work.

Taking food restore from restoration is more a tax to spellcasters than fighters since every 1 spellpoint takes a hunger point to regenerate. With a sustinence amulet, I can probably drop my hunger down to 0 in ~4 hours from 999... this not including natural hunger drop and health regeneration. To add to that, it only takes freakin 10 minutes straight to regenerate my spellpoints because the delay to slow down praying slowed down spellpoint regeneration as well. But, no one really cares because 95% of the server's population uses physique. Since physique drives the demand for high slotted prepped weapons, it's no wonder diamonds are high in value.

The pub is not reliable enough. What am I going to do if it's 3am in the morning and no one is on to serve me food?

Before you guys go changing things, please think it over carefully.

Then that deems the restoration spell useless too, there's heal, that restores a persons full HP.

When you try to make it harder, think of the new players. They dont start with none of the crap a level 110 does, so I mean, don't make a bomy thing drop like a food that restores 50 food, the new players would be killing shell bomies all day just to stay alive. :/

But right now they don't even think about baking bread or planting potatoes. Of course it should not be extremely hard to stay alive, you can still drink water or so though

Stefan, you are no longer adding to Graal Kingdoms Right? If not, who is..? I lost fun in the game after I was able to kill any baddy/enemy. (not player's, I don't bother getting lvl 110.)

I am working on Graal Kingdoms almost every day, mainly fixing problems with the new mudlib right now. There are several things planned that will be added on Graal Kingdoms once Graal v4 and the new mudlib are released.

None of the graal kingdoms staff play GK.
Bjorn Idles, that's not playing.
Sam hosts events regular. Can be classed as playing, but I never see him killing anything.
These are the only 2 staff on GK that I actually know. Sorry if I missed anyone.
Items are being removed each day from people quitting. I suggest you re-activate a few of these. And give magic users more spells. More god relics also, it does get boring. Make enchanting more fun. Wait, make GK more fun.

He's on Graal Kingdom's Debug server nearly daily. He's been on daily, recently - but in the past it was every second day, or so.

I think you misinterpretted my post - if he is on every day, why's it suck so much?

Consider it like this...:
Stephen: "I sit in my car everyday."
Bob: "But it's had a full tank for a week, and I've not seen it leave your drive way?"
Stephen: "Huh? I only said I get in it."

I suppose so, but that's not really pertinent to this conversation - nor is it good management.

The management of graal is not to make you have fun. They work on other things like V4.
Stefan & his testers which is most likely all his debug friends (grr ;-() just sit on debug and "test" V4 out to give bugs for stefan to fix.

I was not talking about the management of Graal, although yes it is to make things fun - I was talking about Kingdoms.

If he is to manage Kingdoms, he should update it more often, supervise it to make sure no glitch's are going on, and stop relying on incompetent staff to tell him things wrong -- obviously they don't.

Completly different subject.
