I don't think the issue is sources of ideas but working them out between the kingdom leaders and the players with key roles. One example is war: during the time of the Astri wars, we did RP the results of wars, that were fought based on game mechanics. Zurkiba expected to rule the graalian world, but in the end he was cornered on three fronts and his armies destroyed, his character died, and he ceased to lead forest. But that was his choice, after the results were clear - no one could have forced him to resign of course.
I am not saying that people should be forced to resign if they get hit with a PKfest excuse of a war, I am making an example of where game mechanics and rping went together.
As for having a 'fully' rped war, that can't really work...because without a real framework of how to determine an outcome, all that is left is a scripted result, and no one is going to work hard if their leaders already worked out their own defeat. So, the only way is to have game mechanics involved, but the mechanics don't make for a very fair outcome.
The request this thread makes is not so much ideas about rping but ideas of how to help kingdom leaders work out plots together without spoiling the plots by their discussion and brainstorming in a public forum. Still - constructive ideas to improve how RPing is integrated into GK is welcome.
