Reviving Coasta De Agua?

I would like to revive CDA (Coasta De Agua). I have talk to Sparks about the idea (briefly thou) and he said I should post and see what you all would think about it. So what would you all think about me reviving a server from 1998 – 2000 PW?

Really, really old server. And no, just use the effort to make an entirely new server unique to Graal. I'm quite tired of old server rehashes myself.

It was a cool server, but I learned my lesson on trying to bring back servers I once played. So my answer would be a "No."

Well, if it was French that that would be something of original idea to do - sort of. Atlantis has a high player count as it is aimed at the German/Dutch (Partly) players - so they all play there. Having a language only specific world would be nice, especially for one we don't yet have.

HOWEVER unless you actually know french, I wouldn't bother. Dictionaries are not going to give you the best results if you just look up each word at a time, and online translations... brr.

But, if you can speak/read and write french perfectly or near to it, I'd give it a go to have a total new french world

I recall Atlantis having a playercount of 0 last time I saw... I guess it was at night though. Either way, they really haven't updated anything in the last 2 years, OR even finished their playerworld...

Well I guess ill go for it.
This is my idea so far since I know their will be some English players. Ill make a system. The system will either speak English or French. For it to speak the language thou you have to choose what language you will prefer and by doing so it will set a flag. When the flag is set, it will either read 1 (1english) or 2 (2french) on the NPC or sign.

I've talked to Ultima (now known as Maverick, Manager of G:R, former Head Admin on CDA), and he says no. "CDA rests in peace, keep it that way." Besides, if one were to revive it, it would only work if all the old staff came back and the atomosphere was the same (not happening).

Well spark said it would be ok. The other thing with staff.. I have talk to a few of them and they said they would come back to Graal and play *if the server was made* Since I been taking French for awhile now and I have a few French people on my staff then I guess I can make the server as spark said.

"Sure it would be ok, but it's a bad idea, you could not recreate the atomsphere, which is what made CDA great. Also, I have NO IDEA where you came up with this French server crap (Coasta De Agua [NOTE: SPANISH WORDS] ), CDA was never, and should never be, a French server, AND if you wanted to do revive the server (which I don't even know why you would, you never even held a high position there) you should get permission from Link, the original owner...have fun with that. I don't support this "revival" at all, its been tried before (Hint: This didn't work the first time you tried), it's failed before, and i don't forsee this one being any different."

Why reviving dead servers ? Dont see the point in it, make some new that actually will interest the players. We have been there, we have seen it and we do not want a revival of servers.
I think the whole thing of GRAAL=COMMUNICATION will ruin if you put up french ****, why dont we put up a server for every single country with there langauge then we all be happy and glad over that we dont have to speak English.

I played Costa De Agua too.

There have been numerous efforts to 'revive' it. It was never a French server, ever. Costa De Agua is Spanish and means, 'Coast of Water' or Water Coast.

The reason Costa De Agua was fun was becuase of the close-knit community there. Most of the players who once played it regularly have all quit by now, so there is no use trying to bring it back. You can't raise the dead. So don't try.
