I would prefer the rules to be guidelines instead, but that's just me.

if it's someone who has no warping rights or anything, and just has RC so they can upload things into their own folder... I don't see what the big deal would be, if we allowed only 1 number..
I mean, say it got hacked, then they could only delete things in that 1 folder... which I doubt would be much, and the person who made the things should have backups...

*edit* oh my, this was my 1,000th post

Well, yes. Yes, I think they do. It says so in the end user agreement or whatever, and should yield truth to playerworld administration as well. You are not even paying _them_, so why should they bother with you?

Quote:
It has been proven that some, if not alot of Managers are not responsible enough to decide these things.
Then that is their problem, the problem of incompetent playerworld staff. Not that of the PWA, and please not that of more responsible managers. I do not see why they should suffer.

If you allow this, there will be servers again with way too many level4 RC's, thus putting way too many PW's in danger of corruption.
I want a definition of corruption. I keep hearing it as a reason to restrict the freedom of the people, but I have no clue what it is.

And you just said you want the manager of a server to be bothered by random Graalians wanting their silly heads uploaded. (Of course there are less random Graalians with quite nifty heads, but I am not talking of those folks here.)

The rule saying private pw's cant have any police etc just plain sucks. I can see if they are closed and are not allowing players, but private playerworlds that let players on DO need Police and FAQ's etc. Private pw's can still get playercounts that are high enough for police to be required.

Deleted some posts only to get it to stay on topic. And I didnt say don't post here. I said dont post here to defend the current rules, I want people to say what they think without anyone defending every rule.

Okay well I will try and get rules that are slightly more guidline like, and not directly controlling right distribution, but I will have to limit in places. But I hope its better slightly than the current rules.

Anything is better than the current rules. As a matter of fact, the whole idea of actually letting us have some input in how things could go is good enough for me. Hey, it's a change. :]]]

This is the only rule that is posing me a problem at this point:
"Midi's and music files should not be uploaded into FileManager. It is hard to check if they are yours or not. For that reason, they should be hosted else where. [e.g: Website]"

Is it really any easy to check if GFX are ours? I mean, this sucks. My Asst. Manager writes great music, and I was planning to have a soundtrack. But, if I wanted to do this, it would use up so much bandwidth that it isn't even funny. Why do I have to go buy MORE server space?

Actually...

Rather than hosting it from another website and have it constantly hog bandwith, you can have players download the server's midi pack then use hte normal play midi command. I -think- it should work becuase it's already on the player's hard drive.

Then again I'm usually wrong :P

There is a process that you can go through to prove music ownership and allow it to be uploaded, but it's a long drawn out process that Stefan and unixmad don't want to have to deal with.
