Yes, but I don't see what point you're trying to make. "I wouldn't bother" (in my definition, not yours) would be the same as saying "I don't care about downsides of having to do work and volunteering". It's just a simple shortcut.
But now that I've told everyone what I meant anyways, it doesn't matter anymore.
