What does age have to do with anything?

If you are talking about something that has already been said a million times, so that it is stuck in my brain....nothing more needs to be said about it, and I am doing what Unixmad requested, and dropping the issue. I suggest you do the same thing.....

Well sorry, it is the truth, I just assumed he would be more serious of the matter, if it bothers him that much, have it deleted, if it bothers you that much, ask him and then have it deleted.

This thread bothers me. It serves no point other than to do what it is doing right now, which is to bother people.

I guess I'm around these posts too much and it's rubbing off on me? What I've actually been doing is saying how silly it is to make such a big deal of something that doesn't matter if you follow the rules.

I hardly ever see you make a actuall opinion, only general compaints, we've heard those in every post, along with a opinion. so why don't you give us your view on it, along with why you have the view. Sorry for the tap dancing comment, it was a little overboard, but I'm annoyed at Moonie >=o)

Since these are complaint threads to begin with, they are at home here, even if the title isn't exactly "COMPLAINT".

MoonGoddess is a nice person, so is Angel, and so is Spark. Now, they need some time to adjust to the new positions. Their judgement will develop over time, as most people's do. If nobody broke rules, then nobody would be penalized for them. It encourages the community as a whole to act like group of nice people as opposed to a divided group of barbarians.

I agree, Angel is a nice person (tho her spelling could improve "marcb" ) and Spark is a great guy! and I mean.. Moonie is Moonie...! But I just see the rules being enforced blindly (don't get me wrong, that could change) and I don't like it, and as I said in the other thread - I'll give them time to change. I liked Kaimetsu way of doing things, probably because he had been here a while, and his actions were usually just, actually almost always. And at first, I couldn't stand the idea that Moon Goddess had got the job, because I only saw her as one to blindly slap the rule book around (Used to, that doesn't speak for now! no damage intended (as out friend unix might say )) and now.. I havn't seen Spark do much besides his usual, don't get me wrong there either! that could chnage. That's my 2 cents (as Moon God would say)

Calm down, let's talk this out with the mods. Don't use caps lock, close the curtains, and pretend you never knew anger excisted.
It's not so bad now because in an attempt to not look AS bad, the mods have simply began ignoring things, double posts for instance. I can give them the benefit of the doubt seeing as they were thrown into a job in which they had little experience, but there's a point when you have to realize that the job is not being done correctly and adjustments have to be made. They've had a rough 2 weeks so far, and we'll see where it goes from here. I have no problems as long as their jobs are being done correctly.

The complaints exist because the rules lately have not been correctly followed and incorrect actions have been taken on things. It's not because we don't want to follow the rules.

This matter has pretty much died now, so I'll be disappearing again soon. In the meantime:

Supermods, you may someday realise that the bulk of a moderator's work isn't in dealing with the big stuff - the thread closures and the bans. Neither is it in silencing people with negative opinions. These facets of moderation may be the most well-known, but they make up less than half of a good moderator's daily activities.

What's the rest? Housekeeping. The list of rules is really quite big, and most of them deal with stuff that many might consider trivial. In this thread alone, we see the following:

A post that consists purely of a quote.
A signature above the size limit.
A long post quoted in its entirety where it should've been trimmed.

At least two supermods have been reading the thread, yet all of these have gone unchecked. Why?

Not seen a major problem with the Mods in days, when they first got power some mistakes were maken, wow.

What I do see, is people getting annoyed because they're being told to shut up because they're making a big deal out of very little. I don't see how bashing the mods or complaining about them will help them to do a better job, if anything they'll get worse at their job, because they'll be afraid that anything they do do will be put under the microscope and picked apart.

Best guess: Me, Pickles, probably a couple of others. Not sure what he's talking about with the 'three warnings' thing, though. He certainly hasn't sent any warnings to me, and most of the threads he doesn't like are promptly deleted. How am I supposed to know if I'm one of the 'troublemakers' or just another person having legitimate posts removed?

Kirai: The claim is that the moderators aren't enforcing the rules, and it is true regardless of whether or not you consider the offenses significant.

Yeah, exactly my point. Let's watch the staff ban all the 'troublemakers' to fix the staff's problem, while they continue to ignore the customer's problem.

It's time for another good idea, bad idea.

Good Idea: Listen to the players and fix the problems they are having, so that nobody complains.

Bad Idea: Ignore the players and don't fix their problems, but fix your own problem, by banning anyone who complains.

I looked in the rules, and it seems the rule about only using quotes was left out, but I have also warned one person for it for using mega quotes. (spam)
The sig has been here since you were supermod, I guess I was just so used to seeing it, and I dont see any incredible large quotes.

Indeed, a natural result of using an unfinished ruleset. It was going to be included in the section on spam, but I abandoned the first document before I wrote that part.

Nevertheless, while the omission may excuse breaking the rule, it does not excuse your failure to enforce it.

Quote:

Out of curiosity, what is the meaning of your term 'mega quote'?

Quote:
The sig has been here since you were supermod, I guess I was just so used to seeing it
Not entirely true. It was edited since I quit - it didn't exceed the limit back then.

Anyway, there are other people with excessively-large sigs. I've found them, why haven't you?

Quote:
I dont see any incredible large quotes.
I don't see the word 'incredibly' anywhere in my post. Anyway, take a look at the twentieth post in the thread.

Quote:

Now you're making me repeat myself too. In short terms: Talk is cheap. Your reluctance to answer the users' points makes it doubtful that you're taking them seriously. Maybe you are? I don't know. My point is simply that you can't expect the people to be confident in you when you don't provide anything more than generic dismissals.

Quote:
And I have news for you, no matter what we do, people will complain.
Perhaps so. What's your point? That you shouldn't listen to complaints? If you do your job properly then you'll certainly have lots of enemies, but most of them will be operating on immature hatred alone. The objective is to reach a point where nobody can raise a justified complaint.

Yeah, i don't see the point in having a forum where only the MODs are happy with what's going on, and as far as i know, more than 90% of the users on this board isn't happy with way the MODs enforce the rules :x

Having happy staff and angre users isn't gonna make a profit, no offense ;O

Uh that's not the only thing that will happen. If people start getting banned for expressing their thoughts and ideas about how these forums are being run (WHICH WE SHOULD ALL BE ALLOWED TO DO AS WE AREN'T THE "TROUBLE MAKERS" AROUND HERE >:O) then 70% of the community will be gone..most of which are active posters and care about this forum just as much as unixmad and any other (as kai said) "higher up" does.

You don't "consider" it. You do it. All I keep hearing from you is "we'll take it into consideration" that's one step away from being "huh? like I care what you just said".

Is it impossible for you to just say "okay", and then follow through with it? If you're not capable of doing the job, then don't keep holding the position. Because there are certain people that most forum-goers would rather see in your position. I'm not trying to make this into a negative thing, but if you're not willing to make a change, then nobody is going to change their opinion of you.

Don't "consider it". Don't "get around to it". Just do it and make everyone aware of it. If you just blow it off and ignore everyone and ignore posts because you're tired of seeing people complain, then it will just get worse.

My personal suggestion, is that you just try to do 200% around here for a while. Your 100% just isn't going to cut it right now. You have to show everyone that you're dedicated and that you want to do the job right. All eyes are on you and the new mods right now, so it's important that you make a good impression.

What you are doing is an example of moonie's "quote spam".

If i were you, i would simply cease to exist, and save myself the world of hurt that would come upon me after R0bin was through with me.
