My advice would be to stop looking at other games, and get some paper and a pencil and start writing down/drawing your own ideas and thoughts for an rpg. Instead of just taking bits and pieces from a bunch of games and then calling it your own work. Sure, I play other RPG's for idea inspiration, but I don't go and copy their artwork to look nearly identical. I just get ideas based off of the gameplay.

Yes, Konidias, there are similarities in the tiles, but to get tiles to look effective, such as water tiles, all tiles will look similar. I could point out many ideas taken from other Role-Playing games, such as your item system, Obvious rip-off of Secret of Mana. Though I do not care for your input, and see you as a low form of human life, I take your critism into consideration. Those tiles are not the exact tileset, We have them blended together to make one tileset, which works better than having a complete isometric-based system. Using functions such as Z-Axis will help in this, also with the help of gani makers, and I myself being one, this project can be easily accomplished.
Now, as for the system, I do not think rob completely understands what we both have in mind, so Here is a brief overview:
-Yes, there will be an isometric-style feel to it, but it will not really involve that much heavy scripting, nor will it involve intensive work for long periods of time.
-Items, similar to that in MANY Strategy games, Not JUST FFT, but as Kartia, Ogre Battles, ect., Will be gained by defeating or killing an enemy.
-The Q-Menu system will be the the worst part of the scripting, which is why I have proposed to have that done first before the tiles.
-Battles will go similar to what Rob has said.
Now, Konidias, and those who have given negative input, what you fail to realize is, is that there is no form of originality whatsoever in the world. Everything that any one or group of person claims to be original, has in fact been done before. Graal 2002 goes with the flow of the MMORPG Ultima Online. Graal, Zelda, slightly modified.
The purpose of this playerworld project is to bring a new experience to graal, just like your server, Oasis, will do. Here is an example of how the tiles will be done:
s for the Character Sprites, Yes, this server does use the original Final Fantasy Tactics squire sprite as a TEMPLATE, nothing more. Yes, it is enlarged by 200%, and we have used the body quardinates to fit. Seeing as how, though, the exact appendage and stance is the only similarity, it is both legal and liable. Once OUR Squire sprite sheet is completed, we will use OUR Squire as a template for other character classes and races.
I would have said this, But seeing as how Rob did not ask me what to post, but posted what he thought was correct, I am sorry for an confusion or inconvience this would have caused you. Fortunately, intelligent people noticed similarities, and Konidias noticed our use of the FFT Squire sprite sheet used as a template. This just gives us better incite on what to improove and what to change to give the server's quality a slight boost in originality.
