Nomad Tents

Would be almost as cool as player houses. Nomad tents you can buy or make from a lot of material (like say 20 wood and 50 cloth). Than you get a tent control npc or something. Using the tent control can lay a tent anywhere outside, once it is layed you can go inside do whatever and store your stuff for a while before picking up the tent and moving on.

I was thinking along the lines of teepee tents used by nomad natives etc. not the modern ones with hold done stakes.

(If you have ever made a teepee before, you know it's heavy enough not to fly away in the wind without stakes.)

Cool idea. It'd be great for rp. But I think it should take less materials.

The biggest problem might be weight. It'd weigh a ton. And then there's the problem of finding a clear space of reasonably flat ground.

Good point about the cart thing.... but still, there could be a smaller tent for people walking, that doesn't weigh as much.

I think Maximus' idea of tents with steaks is better (like a dome tent for example). Some of those tents out there are really big and only weigh like 2.5 kg.

1. Sorry there buddy, but it was my idea, maximus just said he thinks the wood in tents would be for steaks.

2. Why the hell do you need stakes in a heavy canvas tent? Because canvas tents are heavy. It doesn't matter the shape. Dome tents aren't light because they are shaped like domes.

3. We can't have dome tents. Otherwise let's just skip tents altogether and make dbz style capsule house shall we?

3. in case you don't, i'm talking about those tents made out of really thin material and you roll them up into a bag about 50 cm long.

No, silk works. But bomy skins aren't exactly silk, so I don't know where you'd get it.

Exactly, you would need cloth/skin=heavy=no pegs needed

Why don't we need poles? Name a tent type that doesn't use poles!

silk was around a long time ago, so it wouldn't be aginst the midevil graal theme, and when did i say you don't need poles?

Silk is perfectly ok but it's not on 2k2 right now, that's what I meant
