ChocoboGrn is on a distinguished road
Okay, in order to lower item prices, you have to IDENTIFY the item first...or get someone to identify it.

Books/Scrolls ------------------> /use_skill literacy (learn from the scroll of literacy)

Rings ----------------------> /use_skill jeweler (learn from the scroll of appraisement)

Amulets/Potions/Alchemy Ingredients -------> /use_skill alchemy (learn from the scroll of alchemy)

Thats all I know for now. Note that there are TWO scrolls of alchemy, one teaches you the skill and costs 150 platinum and other is for the spell (wizardry spell) that automatically casts alchemy, which can turn nearby items into small gold nuggets.

The scroll that teaches you the skill is called the "scroll of alchemy" and is white. The scroll that uses the spell is called the "scroll of alchemy (lvl 1)"

Oh yeah, and there's also a Book of alchemy that TEACHES you the magical spell alchemy...

I think it's like that for most spells, theres a book and a scroll. The scroll is obviously cheaper cause it's a one time thing while the book allows you to learn the spell and cast it as long as you have wizardry, prayer, or whatever skill you need.

Thats as much as i know for now.
Restarting so much helps you learn what skills do what...
