Reset right, or no?

A random poll, sort of.

This is not meant to spark up arguments, just intelligent (if possible) discussions.

Would you rather all RCs have the Reset right, or just a few?

I believe all RCs should have reset rights. There's a scarcity of people who are actually at their computer when they're on RC. The people who do their job, and don't just idle, could help someone who's been waiting 2+ hours to be reset.

I think there should be a 3 time reset limit, though.

I think it should be just a few, and it should be ART, cause ART should be brought back.

Well supposely Birdbird said All RC's on 2001 will have the reset right.

He said he didn't need ART anymore because the RC's would have the right and they could handle it.....

So theres really no point to this poll....unless Birdbird didn't give the RC's the reset right...

Well then that's just three or so RCs that are not needed since everyone with 2001 RC can reset.

I don't get PM replies from Developers/Admins that are working, which they usually are, and *nameless* took away some reset rights because they were "un-needed," but /they/ got them back.

I reset at an average of 2-3 accounts a day.

I usually did about 5 a day .
Some days I wouldn't get any....some days I would get 7-10.
Normally just about 5 though.

Birdbird told me the reason ART was tooken away was because the RC's could do it. Which I think he was semi-right. I mean the Developers usually dont want bothered. So that leaves like FAQ (you toran) to do most of the reset work. Which is good since we have a good FAQ Chief. BUT if we didn't than we would be in trouble. I dont know....I dont think it should have been gone all together. Maybe just 1 ART since the player amount seemed to be droppping lately....

I never saw you on, but I wasn't on that much. I was on usually 1 hour a day, and Lamer was the only ART I ever saw on.

I just don't like the feeling of so many people being able to reset accounts.. I would hate to be a player and get on one day just to find out my stuff has been wiped clean by someone abusing reset.

We should really have an ART team again.. Why should faq and developers have to hassle with resetting people?

Yes, I feel the need to argue with everything you post. YOU'RE JUST *SO* RIGHT!

I only argue with posts which are stupid, ignorant, or *****ic. You, my friend, fit the mold.

Anyway... *ahem*

I was on nearly all the time when I had RC, that's why it was such a blow to my self-esteem when yet another one of my positions was taken away from me.

I'm sure Birdbird and others noticed the fact that I "was never on" as well and removed ART because of that.

Here are my views on it.

Developers and Admins are usually busy building, developing, or doing something else. My PMs and Kyle's (:[) are hardly ever answered, even when we're specific. Shadow Knight has answered me maybe once. Konidias, 2-3/4 times. I don't have the history, but it wasn't many. Falados, I've never actually PMed him for anything, but most of the time he's "DnD."

The site, it reset everything. Kills, deaths, online time, etc. You only lose your flags, NPCs, ap, and things like that.

Yeah. I liked having 2000+ kills eliminated along with 300+ hours when I was banned and had to reset my account to fix it.

It's not really a fair punishment for being banned, but it was a mistake gameo made, it was no where near fair; not saying that it ever would be.

Well, if you really cared about those kills that show nothing, and hours that show nothing of significance, then yes, I'm sure you didn't like it, but I did.

I don't think Neoknight is ignorant or *****ic for not being on around the same time Marle was on RC.

I did, however, notice Marle was on RC a lot, doing her job.

I don't think anyone except Birdbird and Konidias should have the d/c ability (I know this isn't about this thread, but oh well). If any other RCs had that and got mad, they could ruin 2001 in a second, by d/c the NPC server. As for the resets, ART was pointless. I was ART, and I did nothing, which is why I transferred over to Classic. Perhaps trusted admins should get the reset ability, but that's it. If this admin person gets mad, then some people will get reset, and we don't want to deal with that.

I have a problem with 2001. Torankusu, I think that if you are on RC, you should have a staff tag on. You do not "work", you answer questions. If you choose to be on RC, you should have your staff tag on. If you want to get off tag, you should go off RC. That goes for the people that do Police and such, too.

One more thing, why is it people wear RC tags and they say Name_here -no pms- (RC)? I never understood that, if they didn't want RC, they could just get off their RC tag.

Accounts can always be reverted to an erlier date in the event of a catastrophy on 2k1, so that person would just cause a hastle and cause himself to get ip banned and so.

And I am still wanting to talk to Konidias again about who has what right and for what reson, because, Konidias you keep thinking the worst of anything that could happen, maybe we shouldn't give them read levels folders right or else they could release all those levels to the public ._., but than that would defeat the whole poupose of them being on rc in the first place.

Me personaly I want every rc to have the ablity to have reset, once familiar with the rc program and protocals though.

I agree with Lyndzey on the disconect right.

Quote:
Edit: I found out that Konidias took away most of my rights: disconnectplayers, viewattributes, resetattributes,a dminmessage, changecomments
Now I find that a bit, a bit... wierd

You should have view attributes just incase a police needs help, or if you are having a problem with an npc in a level and so on, how can someone abuse view attribuites?

Reset right, who currently as it? Me, Konidias, SK, Falados? We should be the last people having it seeing as how we are usualy dnd and working, it doesn't make sense to me, yeah a person could abuse the hell out of it, but thats worst case senario, and in worse case senario accounts can be reverted, so its pointless for the person to do such a thing. A sicological safeguard so to say, So I'm going to try to allow every rc to have reset attribute like I originaly planed it to be so.

Adminmessage, I'm still debating on it, If players ignore you on rc sometimes there is no other way to contact them, so this is like, you can forcefully give them a warning or so.

ChangeComments, Every rc should have this, simply to tell a higher admin what to do, what happend serious on this person, why he/she should be banned, information needed on that person or to put on that person.

So I'll discuss these topics than and get this sorted out, I've been sorta on a quick leave, because of exsams and stress, but I'll be back in full swing tomarrow or tonight.

Well there is really no point to this thread than?

If Birdbird gives the RC's the reset ability then they should be able to handle.

I think Arachaon , Alkaren , and Toranksu can handle the reset stuff. It does only take a second to do. You just have to be RC when the person is on that wants it.
I think the only reason we HAD an ART Team was the fact that there weren't that many people on RC BEFORE to do these sort of things...

Psst...I have reset

I've had it for a while now

If Birdbird gives the RC's the reset ability then they should be able to handle.

I think Arachaon , Alkaren , and Toranksu can handle the reset stuff. It does only take a second to do. You just have to be RC when the person is on that wants it.
I think the only reason we HAD an ART Team was the fact that there weren't that many people on RC BEFORE to do these sort of things...
Actually, ART was created so NL could give his friend, Merlin, a job.

Well birdbird, if you were ever ONLINE I would talk to you about it. Why on EARTH did you give SOTO that is only bugs admin, and police, all the rights that he had? He was able to warp players, reset players (I think), disconnect players, etc. He had all kinds of test weapons and crap that he didn't need to have.

A bugs admin's job is to look for bugs in levels, or current npcs, not to play with stuff and put hats on other peoples heads.

You have this weakness of giving stuff to your friends that they should not have. I had to disable your Vladimir_2001 account because your friend Static was on it harassing me and told me that anything I do to him will just get undone, since he is your friend in real life, and was talking to me like he was untouchable because you're buddies with him.

He unbanned it, changed the password, and gave the account to Kamuii because of the trouble he was causing.
