RC/FTP, Err !

Well as some may know the new RC has an FTP
client built into it ... I know the basis for that is so
playerworlds dont have to get their FTP pass
changed when someone with it quits. But I mean
its laggy, and I dont mean for people that have
crappy computers, I'm talking bout everyone that
dares to load the sucka... Would it be possible to
maybe have a seperate program that you can use
your RC name and pass to login to to get to the
servers files. This would help more problems instead
of lagging RC Chat like crazy ... Plus, makes one more
toy to play with ... answer the poll question based
on whether or not you agree its a good idea ...

You probably have a fast computer, I'd say.

If you consider 550~mhz and 256MB of PC133 SDRAM to be "fast", then, be my guest.

I don't like the idea of an external FTP client, though.

Well i'm not saying eliminating the RC/FTP client(s)
i'm just saying, have the RC able to login to the
servers folders, as well as have a seperate program
to log in ...

Exsactly,

Its true that the new ftp client program
has some drawbacks, but its really faster
than most of the programs out there,
it downloads all the files if you select them,
than they download as a whole than transfer
to your computer rather than downloading
file after file, witch could take hours.

It also has that whole folder acess thing,
if you want people to read, or write, and
individual folder rights.

I think its alot better than outside ftp programs,
for graal at least.

I had a hard time getting used to it at first, but
its all better now, it also updates what ever you
uploaded the seccond after its uploaded :E!!!

Let's face it, Graal's FTP was never superleet - the combination of RC and FTP has made the lives of so many children quicker and easier.

By the way, I run a 333 with 48MB on a 56k, and I don't experience any unnatural lag with the new FTP.

they only say it lags because they don't know crap about networks and it sounds intelligent.
