You can't read that kind of thing in a newspaper. It is an opinion based upon facts gathered over long periods of time.
FACT: US companies employ cheap labour overseas.
FACT: US influences overseas inflation to pump the value of the dollar in spite of the fact that they waste more money than any other country in the world
FACT: The average US citizen makes $10,000 more and produces $10,000 less than the average Japanese citizen

How much do I have to go through?

I don't understand it. People in the Us cheered when Japan was bombed, but unlike the Palestinians, among whom about 200 cheered, 20 million cheered in the Us. and unlike the palestinians, who cheered for the death of about 7,000 people, the US cheered for the death of about 170,000 people.
Because at that time, no civilian other than the scientists of the Manhattan project had ANY idea what kind of destruction, what kind of MONSTER, had been unleashed upon those cities. Now that we have been educated on what these terror weapons can do, in my opinion, if they were used by EITHER side, it would be condemened by the entire world.

Sorry everyone, this has been a VERY intresting thread, but my Dad is in the military as a medical squadron commander, and he is on 6-ring alert, meaning he MUST be able to access the phone within 6 rings at all times... thanks and goodnight.

The United States did far worse to Japan than could ever be justified as a retaliatory action. Only the chinese had a right to cheer.

But the US has not only ignored the suffering of the palestinians under the israelis, they have supported it!

Do NOT even bring pearl harbor and Japan into this.

The President at the time gave legitimate warning, telling them we will launch a atomic bomb if they don't surrender. They didn't listen. We launched the atomic bomb. After that bomb, we asked once again to surrender...they once again didn't listen, and we launched...that one hit hiroshima I think, not sure...

We were about to luanch a 3rd atomic bomb, and we told them we were launching it at Tokyo...they surrendered then.

There was a second option, of course...sending men in to do the same things the missiles did. Only thing is, we would have lost MANY, MANY men....

So we had 2 options...use the most destructive weapon in the world at the time, or send in men. If we sent men in, the world would have lost as many, and MANY more.

Which choice would you choose?

the atomic bomb is the most cowardly disgusting action that could be taken
at least sending men would be honorable

pearl harbour didn't kill nearly as many people as hiroshima bombing did

Then there are the other people who are glued to the TV at school and have intelligent conversations with the teachers about this happening in the US.

well dang man, it was an ATOMIC BOMB!!!!
Did you know that the Japanese found people who were hiding in the caves of mountains that thought the war was still going on?
When they discovered this at the time, they found out that those people were in those caves for 30 years because they feared they would die because of the atomic bomb...

COWARDLY?! WE WEREN'T GETTING INVOLVED IN THE WAR, THEY GOT US INVOLVED ON THEIRCOWARDLY ATTACK ON PEARL HARBOR...

You look at the japanese today, they are a great people, filled with tradition and honor, with kindness...before the atomic bombing, they weren't like that. They were war like, and fill with hatred.

They brought the bombings on themselves...

Yes but we haven't used an atomic bomb for no reason. We use it when we had no choice. And wouldn't you rather kill thuosands of the enemy and less-likely have any deaths from your own country??

Valder is on a distinguished road
I HAVE A LOT OF PRIDE IN MY COUNTRY!

And Pearl Harbor was unexpected unlike the atomic bombs, they didn't send soldiers in, they send Airplanes filled with bombs and started to BOMB pearl Harbor. This is MUCH worse though. I agree with TrueHeat in that they should have found an alternative way to do something to the Japanese people, and at least should have attacked a military instilation like they did.
