well about 12 hours ago it was up and running with MASSIVE lag, i got dc'ed 3 times in a 15 minutes period and the rest of the time i was not getting kicked it was "loading" thro the lag

I definitely can say I've seen this happen quite a few times over there years since I've been playing.

Over the past few years? How about consistently every single day? I'm constantly being disconnected from the server, with a side order of lag or delays in connectivity.

Would you like to superior that for 25 cents? I only play gk and lately it's lagged badly too. I'm wondering if all the lag is caused by the host or scripts on server. For example not destroying TServerPlayer objects would leave them in memory and eventually fill it up completely making it stop

Yeah, Tim I've seen you complain about disconnecting a lot since I got hired on Era, but I think that was just you. prior to a week ago, I could stay connected to Era for a week and never come to my computer and still be connected. D:

When I was manager of Era PC just over a year ago stefan never refused anything I offered to put in the Gelat shop. Don't no where your getting that information from.

Exactly what have you gotten Stefan to add to the Gelat shop? I'm looking at the shop right now and it looks exactly as it always has.

there was like 2-3 things including extra slots, those we're things i added, unless they got removed by the era staff within last year

The slots would be the only thing that was possibly added during your management. I feel like Chris Vimes added those though.

Depends on the person, you know that. When I was Zone Manager I had to get new content reviewed by him and him only for quite some time which is understandable I'd say.

The additional hotkeys item was from MD, I don't think anything else was added during that timeframe or any kind of recently at all

Nope, I only added the three original items. Didn't see a reason to add more since GraalOnline was already making a lot of money and still ignoring us and all the problems we had (especially wrt server issues).

If Graal is using Black Lotus, I can say that the provider had some downtime planned for tonight and that my company's services were interrupted in the hours leading up to that. They followed the same schedule as Graal's downtime.

Yes you are right it was a problem with Black Lotus, they were quite long to fix the problem...

Problem is over, it was a ARP problem on a major switch.

Hey unixmad, I've been wanting to use a backup system on Era for quite sometime. Any possibility you could open up some ports for out going traffic to backup things like player accounts, levels, and even scripts.

Really? Last thing I heard was that nothing gets backupped anymore. And it SUPER complicated to get any backups too..
Maybe a backup system managers can use to set the server back to a certain date? Dunno

Yeah, Nico is right. As far as I know we had to do our own backups. At the moment I have to do manual backups on Era.

I assume they are doing backups on the host level, guys. The MySQL (or whatever) databases probably get constantly backed up, in a much more efficient way than the horrible, bandwidth-guzzling tarball files we used to make.

It is just unfortunate that we're not entitled to these backup files, although I am sure they would be provided if we had a major issue, e.g. many files accidentally deleted.

You was hardly even staff on Era when I was staff how do you know what i added? You was hardly even a player at that time. Are you still a Useless Era float with useless position?

Regarding Backups, it was really easy to contact Unximad ([email protected]) to gain the backups and the SQL DBs for UN, he uploaded them the very next day. But it would really come in handy to be able to quickly pick and select your files, if it was automatically uploaded to github. You could also easily see changes made within scripts.
