Amazing indeed. Although I only started seriously playing it when the playercount was averaging ~50. Still better than 0 though...

It needs to be marketed, well the whole game does. Currently, there are no new players joining due to the stated reasons above and due to the fact that no one really knows what this game is. Although a lot of games don't do advertising, it might actually help build somewhat of a player base.

Marketing doesn't fix game flaws, if anything it magnifies them because you're exposing them to a larger audience. (PC Zone is full of them)

If you make a good game and people like it, people will refer it to the friends free of charge.

if zone did get a boom in new players then people like me, chris, mike biggy ect would proberly make them all quit within a day. people tend to log off after they have been destroyed.

Perhaps because their manager was a notorious hacker? I'm talking about PowerProNL.

This is one of the many reasons that Zone died:
  • Lack of reasonable updates
  • Cash shop
  • Unfair trial restrictions
  • Less trials for subscribers to kill
  • Incompetent managers
  • and ultimately, a certain greedy Stefan.

Well, ya know having SN put you in charge wasn't much help. What really screwed us was you putting PowerProNL in charge so thank you for ruining Zone just a bit more.

Zone PC was a lost cause long before I got my hands on it. Sadly, there aren't enough skilled developers - Zone has potential.

Yes you're right, putting him in charge was definitely not even remotely a good decision. You should have just sat on it instead of giving it to a *****.

To be honest, the cash shop was implemented after Zone had already died. It was during Contiga's mini-revival (if you could call it that) that we got that, and by then a lot of people had left. Anyone with half a brain probably left asap (not so many, being Zone and all) because of the imbalance it created, but it wasn't the cause of death.

Tougher restrictions on trials, change of P2P model(remember that back then, before v5, the subscription system was different), no incentive to actually pay for Zone, and lack of attention towards the development of the server led to its demise. Zone isn't coming back, not on normal Graal anyway.

To be honest the player count of Zone was fine with v5 and gelat shop, but it was just not made for keeping people stay on the server, it's more event-driven than most other Graal servers. The soon-to-be-released iPhone version will have more persistent and non-pvp content.

Not really, no. Also, you wanted to add non-PvP content to PC Zone a long time ago, yet that never happened. Could've saved it though.

funny, zone was more popular when there was barely any events.

I think its just that people still tried to play zone despite how F'd up it was getting, and now everyones stopped because it aint worth it.

I have no faith in Izone, it will proberly just crash and burn. GL anyway.

Considering he thought the damn place up I think he'd know quite a bit about it. Obviously the playercount isn't what is used to be.

Sure hes a remarkable scripter and did a great job making Zone. But he obviously has no idea where his biggest mistakes were made with Zone if he thinks the playercount was fine in V5 lol. I've played Zone more then most people around, I know how much attention Stefan gave to Zone..
Like I said, the gameplay started going downhill before V4.

In 2001 people used to post about how Classic (proper) and Graal2001 would be dead eventually. Obviously it's a lot more complicated than that, but it does conflict with the argument that it's entirely wrong to predict a demise in future using what was said 10 years ago as an example.

Apparently, my "geez" and "pfft" didn't appropriately denote the lack of seriousness in my post.
