It already does happen quite frequently, and as more Questing content has been released more of these people have ignored the fact there is little/no playercount (being Under Construction and all) and played through it, some have even adopted Classic as their home server despite its status.

I was playing through the quest with a new player (I guess? Never seen him before) and we got up to a point where we both had a key and no door. After dying 20 times from things like green water (which you can swim in but it can't touch you when it's dripping?) and the door laming rats it all just got frustrating. He logged and I followed shortly after.

I like how the quest is presented and the small details. However, these small things are clouded by the bad use of backtracking and although it shouldn't be easy, it's just confusing and annoying. Another thing I didn't like was that random things changed without either of us actually noticing a change. In a lot of games (including Zelda) the focus is moved from the player onto these "unlocked" areas, and I think that's something you should really look into adding.

Edit: Just read this..

This is most likely where I got stuck, because I can't remember doing this. I would never have thought of that, and I don't see how anyone would seriously come up with that solution on their own.

Through lack of knowing what could possibly activate the switch? I thought you might receive something later on in the quest that would allow you to place weight onto it (y'know.. typical Zelda backtracking) but that is obviously not the case.

Yes, I know that now because I've read it on the forums. There are pots in many other rooms however, and they all serve the purpose of healing the player, just like they do in Zelda. Had the pots slowed my player down when lifting them or showing some kind of effect that they add weight I might have thought "oh, this is what I'm supposed to do" but they didn't, and neither did I. That is why push blocks are effective, because they aren't things you see everywhere else in the world, and you understand that these things are triggers to get further in your quest. Using things like pots, bushes, or signs without adding onto them doesn't work.

If it's not a problem and I'm just too stupid then that's fine with me, I'll just make sure to read the forums before I attempt any of the quests that are released.

Before things get too heated, may I remind everyone about how frustrating some of the original quests got. Seems to me Timemutts (?) walkthrough site was about the most popular website amongst the Graalian population. Some will find any number of the quests easy, or at least say they are. While others will find them excrutiatingly difficult without help.

I shall now attempt to do the quest myself while admittedly probably dying about 500 times before completing it

I'd say a lot of people did, including myself. There is absolutely nothing that indicates that you can put a pot on the switch, since throwing them breaks them.

90% of the iphone/PC players that logged on and did the quest never got stuck at that part, what are you talking about.

I believe the pot part is only required if you fall/jump down the hole that you push down a block from.

you need to do it if you want to go back upstairs after getting the boss key or if you jumped down the hole without pushing the block first(if the water wasnt drained).

Trouts aside, they weren't much help. I did the quest. I agree that the rats can be annoying after awhile. There's just a few too many of them in some levels, on some occasions they seemed to be smelling my presence at the door and nail me as I walked in. I didn't get stuck anywhere for long although I also never got the rat boss killed yet cause I ran out of time to be able to play. I'll get the evil munchmaster later. The rats that were put in there to help ended up causing me to die since I was so busy staying ahead of the fat rat I wouldn't notice the little tards and trip over them. Hence causing me to lose a bit of flesh by fatso and children life untimely death. Good thing I'm a vampire and heal.

I'm really not bothered by the fact that when you die you have to walk back. The respawn point isn't that far away and I actually had an occasion or two that it helped me get my bearings back as to where I was and needed to go by dying. The fact it had a save spot outside the rat boss room seemed to me to be the most beneficial since I am so expert at dying.

While my intent was to go through the quest entirely unaided, things didn't quite work out that way. Thanks to Jesus Freak and Racil for their help. While I did make some ban threats to Racil and Thor and I'm sure the swear log caught a choice word or two overall I give the quest a thumbs up. It may not be exactly like Zelda quests but this is Classic not Zelda. It should have its own signature instead of the label of Zelda clone.

A true gamer will do the quest. If for no other reason than 'because they can.' Its the right of passage to manhood you know.

I love you too Crono, but our future is grim since my pixels are fading and without e-children our genes will have no chance of conquering the intraweb.

the boss is incredibly boring. at first you wanna mash it then realize it doesnt get hurt so you run around until it gets tired. oh look it's that boss again. after a while you just wanna rush it but it never seems to get tired when it changes directions so the only challenge in this fight is to pace yourself so the rat only faces one direction. the fight itself doesn't even make sense, you do damage by slashing it's tail/butt? a fur rat can't be damaged by your sword while you massacre fellow human beings and baddies with it?

the quest itself looks good but on the gameplay side of things is quite boring and dull.
its a game you want it to be as real as possible?

I know I'm not online as much as Laura, but I'll have to agree with her when she says that iPhone players are remarkably smarter than "traditional" Graal players. I get requests from time to time, but none of the stupid questions come from the iPhone players (aside from them asking to be admin, i tell them yeah sure). Most of the stupid questions come from groups of players from other servers that are trying to "blow through this quest" or older players that are just poking around because they're curious and don't really care. I typically ignore both of them. Also, I have yet to have anyone come to me because they were stuck on the pot (...no pun intended. Lol Zol's toilet).

As for walktrouts, I don't think the FAQ Team will be doing any kind of walkthrough for Classic quests in the future. What we learned last time is that they kind of take away from the exploration part of the server that makes it an actual game. Classic is actually in excellent shape compared to most other servers ironically, IMHO Thor has done a very excellent job thus far and I hope the trend continues.

Well there will be no official walkthroughs posted by Classic staff. If you want to make one then you're more than welcome but I am of the opinion that they take more than they give.

@Bell: I know you were but since I pretty much never post on these forums I figured I'd make a semi-serious post for once. Also, commando all the way.

The reason everyone defaults to walkthroughs is because the quests are boring and full of suck. Make them fun and nobody will prefer a wall of text telling them what to do over experiencing it.

Not everyone feels this way. Hence why there are different types of gameplay on various games. Some enjoy the grind of leveling up while others find questing to be fun and challenging. In Graal's case it equates to different types of servers. You obviously are not a Zelda addict but sales of said game prove that many out there are.

I think he meant that quests are boring on Graal. They don't hold a flame to any Zelda dungeon.

DemonSpawnn will become famous soon enough
It was an alright dungeon, good first one I suppose...

The thing that bugged me the most was the fact that there was no weapon acquired in it? No weapon that you will use to kill the boss and to solve a future puzzle? Out of all the Zelda games I've played there was always a weapon.. Weapons is part of what makes Zelda so much more of a puzzle, and if you want to come anywhere near Zelda dungeons you need weapons..

Overall: 3/5

Obtaining a weapon and using it either to progress through or defeat the boss is something we intend for full-scale dungeons later on, Zol's Toilet is only meant to be a mini dungeon.
