Theoretically we could add like 200 additional colors. There are around 150 html colors specified, may be we could use them?

Assuming Stefan is talking about the web safe color palette that features 216 colors it'd be something like this, which really is more than enough..

Release the linux open beta then it shouldn't be an issue since every os will have a client available. If you want to choose from all the colors you have to use the beta and sacrifice your look on v5. Or you can store the v6 colors separately from v5's.
