Ruins hirings and updates

"What is it?"
Ruins is a very classic themed world featuring many exciting quests
divided into multiple dungeons called "Ruins" themselves.

"How does it start?"
You will begin your marvelous journey in a little town called Narwa,
located on the map named Ebenia.

"Okay that's cool, but then?"
Then you will travel across the country! Equip your sword, discover bigger cities and landscapes,
make yourself some money by helping citizens out, and solve the mysteries behind the ruins.

"Sounds exciting! What about multiplayer features in all this?"
Common things to do will be done solo and there will be no economy, which means no trade system.
Ruins will be done solo too for the story part,
but right after you've completed it, you can have fun in parties
from 4 to up to 8 players to take part in instanced dungeons with
a fierce and strong boss, promising a long and brave battle to win amazing prizes.

"Battle?!"
The main way to fight will be based on swords.
They are the only thing they can equip, above quest items.
Each sword will be unique, as most of them will be enchanted with energy,
giving each sword an extra ability for the user, called skill.
Skills can be mastered after a long use, depending on the skill.

"So what do you fight beside bosses?"
You simply fight baddies located around the world.
There is no leveling system of any kind for the players,
but locations will be divided into levels of dangerousness.

"Jobs?"
The funniest way to make money is probably fighting off baddies,
but you will have yourself to work at times, for example in the mines
to get some ores. You can then visit the blacksmith to craft yourself
a fresh stainless blade.

What I need right now:
I would only need myself a competent scripter, ready to complete the work
of various other scripters, and work on existing systems
(and eventualy improve them).

The staff team is composed of myself, manager and graphic artist,
Patrick my furious Level Maker and novice scripter, Blu and Miniman
completing the graphics department, and Switch for the ganis and scripting part. Seeing as he's obviously busy, I need only one more scripter
to complete quite a simple but worthwhile server.

This looks like a lot of fun and the concept is pretty easy to understand. The lack of economy really catches my eye too.

I really like the concept behind the server, with the ruins to be explored and solved and such. The story part being singleplayer is an interesting twist where multiplayer is opened upon completing the story part, and no economy? Interesting. The simpleness you find in several other good RPGs, you have taken that and adapted that simpleness, which is a good move,keep it up!

What do you mean?
We will slightly change some of them and make new heads, hair and such. The templates will just be the same, they are really easy to use, and you can create very smooth animations since everything is divided into multiple parts. This also allows me to make more content ingame (buying pants for example)

Well, to be honest I cannot answer such question at the moment. We are seriously revamping everything but still following the original concept. The whole tileset is changing and the way maps are organized too! It's starting to simply look kickass.

Same goes for the inventory and many other things. So unless Switch gets back from vacations (he hasn't been on for more than a week so I guess he is) I am still hiring one gani artist.

Haha, you mean it "sounds" promising, because right now, the pictures you can see is not what it looks like anymore! There is still the same feel to the environment, but really :P

Still looking for one gani artist, but this time experienced in gani movies!
I'm looking for someone that is ready to make breathtaking cutscenes, while using systems like the weather to give players a close feel to what is happening!

The first cutscene needed is an epic war between guards, soldiers and various bandits, villains. They will be fully designed soon.

Isn't this achieved by completing a server? I don't care what tab you -think- it is going on, I just want to know what the advantages are of becoming a Gold server. As I see it there are only disadvantages.

Well I first thought servers using gold bodies needed to be aiming for the gold tab themselves. I will use them in any way I can, because the classic bodies are way too random to perfectly animate all of them.
I then thought making it gold would also kinda revive Graal. Putting a completely new server on the gold tab didn't happen in years, and completing that list would show how worthy the server is. With some proper advertising campaign, graal would take advantage of the cute little RPG that it would become and attract a bunch of new players - eventualy drag iPhone's to PC even more. That was my idea at first, but if you guys want it to complete the classic tab to play it, I got no problem with that at all, if Stefan lets us use the bodies of course.

the word "classic" will be used in the concept then, as there will be nothing complicated in the gameplay.
I'm not talking about the word "classic" referring to graal, but more like a gameplay we already experienced in other games, everything is basic, but there will be more features added, giving an unique touch to Ruins.
