Then every "pro" is back on the beach and shoveling like noobs.

I think every bank account should be set to 0 aswell.

I agree with keeping the bank accounts at 0 or at least slashing them.

Of course anyone who doesen't have much money would like the money to go down to 0, that gives them a chance to be one of the people who has most money. I say you keep the money as they are and do auctions or something.

But what I don't understand is, why do we have most items on a limited amount? We don't come here to spend hours and hours making money. We come here because we want to have some fun when we're bored, you should release all items to shops and sell them in an unlimited amount, release all the Event Items with an unlimited amount and just raise the prices on some of the things in there.

sales actually said he would consider this as the reset date came closer, not sure if he said that to shut me up or was serious, but when they did that before the last reset it was wicked fun

It'd be silly to let you experience stuff you haven't experienced, such as not having the need for no ammo and having all the best guns. Most of the fun is finding out what it's like as your money grows, gradually. :/

Thats no fun, I don't come here to spend hours and hours making money. I mean I come here to have some fun when I'm a bit bored, so I would like it to be easy to get everything.

There's absolutely no way you can just leave the bank accounts at 0....

A lot of players sold nearly all of their items to get cash for the auctions that have been occurring (Including me).

Some players are basically being reset if you just decided to set banks to 0.

Return everyone with 200k+ down to 200k or lower.
Keep everyone else the same. There are huge consequences to this, but hey when has era ever cared?
The fact that it takes so long to notice 30million being spawned in the economy is a joke, when the hell do you even see people making money nowadays?
Either code something to notice this,or hire someone/give someone that works on Era already the position to check these kid of things.
Rofl 30 million.

::
Also were the abusers banned?

I think that balance of bank accounts above 10k should just be devided by 1k 10k, it would even up the economy without leaving them bankrupt.

Yet the sale of weapons can't be the source of the extraordinary money release, as the source of the huge money spawn is probaply somewhere else.

The abusers were banned. However, I was just saying that Chris never banned their alternate accounts. Therefore, they were able to log on still, but I took care of that.

I'm going to return everyone's money a day early. I think there's a pretty big consensus among players for leaving their money alone and auctioning off some rare items. The auction for the MP5 will end tomorrow at 8 PM.

And we all thought era management couldn't get worse..
The simple solution was a rollback to last week (like ever other time this has happened over a short period),this is about as obvious as Smu's little item hunts.

We would have had to roll back approximately 5 weeks, not one .

  • One month ago, the sum of all of the money in Era's bank accounts was around $10 million. We had one millionaire.
  • One week ago, we had 4 millionaires. The sum of the money in Era's bank accounts was $26 million.
  • Today, there are 8 millionaires on Era. 5 of them have at least $1.5 million. There are 3 people with at least $2 million. There is (and no I am not joking) $45 million in Era's bank accounts.

Roll back to last week and get 19$ million out?

I wouldn't really consider rolling back so far an option. I think the majority of players would prefer to just make due with the current conditions than lose everything they've done in the past week.

I have an idea that might help prevent this or other glitches, or at least a couple, as this is what i use to do on Zodiac when it first opened. I use to make it known that I would reward players who report glitches to me so long as they did not abuse it. It actually worked really well, because sooner or later most glitches are found and many players would rather have a reward than possibly be banned for life/lose all the items they got. Players talk, and more often than not, there are a good amount of people who know about glitches, but don't usually tell staff because there isn't an incentive.

Not being banned is a worthless incentive, if you've engaged in the act, best you can do is not get caught. I'm not a rocket-scientist or nothing, but reporting the glitch you're abusing is NOT the best way to not evade being caught.

Also, why not choice D? The money's there, just work with it.
Or, the one-week roll-back, then choice D. That sounds nice.
Rather than spawning items, to get rid of spawned money. <- roflmao.

I highly agree with Zoo on what he had to say about just releasing all items to shops. Honestly it's just flat out stupid that this hasn't been done earlier and I've been telling myself everything would be fixed and everyone satisfied if it was done. I mean honestly, you guys are only just messing up your economy even more with these little "item auctions" that you host. I mean yeah, while it's taking a lot of money from this one select person, at the same time you're giving him an item that is probably in the end going to be worth 2 times as much as he originally paid. Really, all these "rare" items are only raising the standard of how much money should be achieved in order to get a half way decent weapon. If you were to release all items with set prices, there wouldn't be any misconceptions of how to "fix the economy".

Releasing rare items reduces their rarity, so if carried out enough times for a specific item, it becomes less and less rare. However, as a downside to the technique, the item also loses value each time so you'd be taking less and less money from the economy.

Releasing borderline-rare items into NPC-ran shops with a significantly less price than what's on the market could also be good, but may also piss a few semi-rich to rich players off - nobody likes losing significant net worth.

Releasing borderline-rare items into NPC-ran shops with a significantly less price than what's on the market could also be good, but may also piss a few semi-rich to rich players off - nobody likes losing significant net worth.
And pissing off a few rich people is of more worth to the server than gaining more players? Era's real problem at the moment is that it's damn near impossible to get any item of decent quality without abusing glitches to get money or having to perform one of their tedious jobs for half a century. Obviously when people realize that they can't get anything good when they log on, most will react by saying "F*** this." and logging off.

Edit: As for your "downside" to the technique stated above. I really don't think it's a downside.. but more of an upside. I mean, in the end.. when the majority of people log on to Era, they are looking to have a good time. I don't really think money should be of any serious relevance. Honestly, when I play Graal, it's because I am bored and want to have fun.. get some items, PK, participate in events. But due to the current nature of the server it's almost impossible to do those things. I can't PK efficiently without getting owned by someone using some super gun that cost 2 million dollars, and I don't even have a mere 5000$ in my bank account. (Btw, this is just an example.. I still own people with my crappy famas.) :-P
