You should be gaining bigger points when defeating better opponents, not just 1 point for every game won. If the amount of points you gained depended upon the other persons level, ability, cards owned, points:your points ratio, whatever, then it would probably be more appropriate.

This could still lead to several problems as well. If you're friend has a horrible w/l ratio you can let them beat you then transfer the points to yourself.
