Why has the playercount dropped so dramatically?

Why has the playercount dropped so dramatically?
Your Opinion on why the playercount had dropped by so much...
E.g. On Zone we use to have 80+ on peak times but now its hard for it to even pass 40.. which is extremely boring...

I Blame Gelats =] And the removal of lifetime classic, also the changes added to the trial system but that's just talking from a zone players point a view
From zodiac i believe a lot of players quit because of the removal of lifetime classic as well as not being able to pay them separately.

Graal in general is becoming dated, and it's hard to keep up with the times when the developers of the game are focusing entirely on something else.

I agree with you there, but maybe they are concentrating on something else right now, in order to bring in more money to put into Graal. I hope, anyway.

I know this is contrary to the general Graalian mindset but the fact is, Graal needs to downsize. There are too many servers in relationship to the number of developers/players.
We have too many people wanting to be boss with too few workerbees to support it. Until people realize that nothing is going to change.

The PWA has been given the insurmountable task to decide who survives and who dies. This isn't going to be popular with many of you but people have to stop trying to live in the past and start coming up with ideas that are new and fresh. They have to spend the time to make good graphics and good content rather than trying to revive something that died from lack of interest in the first place. They also need to focus on a core set of servers, each with its own individuality and work toward common goals.

Most gamers in general have ADD so you need to keep them interested and focused by providing them with enough activities to keep their attention for more than a couple hours of gameplay.

Of course they do need to work together, but still the problem is that most of themes been made already. Most of playerworlds are actually a copy of existing servers with a few more ideas THAT AREN'T WORTH IT.
The hell of the problem is that there is too much playerworlds, and 95% of them fail. When was the last time a server made it to classic ? A long time ago. Playerworlds is a large source of money for graal, but there's no solution.

Yes, but that doesn't mean that players will see instant progress. It means that if they aren't working towards improvement on a regular basis they will be moved. Classic servers being moved will also need to be approved by Stefan whereas Hosted servers only require the PWA.

Hence my reason for saying insurmountable task. I have to believe though that quality content would draw in more people willing to pay to play vs counting on a fixed income from development income. That in itself has dropped just as steadily. At one point I was checking over 102 playerworlds while last I counted it was 59. Thats quite a substantial drop in funds.

It's because we don't actually have enough people with the skills needed to create a decent server that want to work together. Everyone has their own thing they want to do, but none of them want to go with the same style of playerworld. Honestly, I think everyone should hop on the Crystia bandwagon, it's the only thing I've seen lately that has a great amount of potential that hasn't been done before.

I wish that wasn't the case. The quality of it would blow any current playerworld out of the water.

Pretty graphics won't help the server to survive though if they aren't developing content to go with it. I also have high hopes for it but am concerned with the lack of activity there.

This. Yes. Win. I don't understand why they expect us to pay them to develop. This is why we need GS2 support offline.

You're really good at graphics, it sucks that you hate it. I wish I had half your talent.

It would at least be nice if developers didn't have to upgrade to gold to work on a server. Playing I can understand, but it's really counter-productive to require that for the developers, too. I've had a few talented people turn me down for the sole reason of not wanting to buy Gold

"Yes, we need to work together." "We gotta stop making our own servers and start working on the allready existing servers."
Yet, THOSE people doesn't even do it.

You should have stayed on UN, Xelt really needs some talented help and you're pretty much the only one left there. I'd hop along too but I don't have time and quit developing.

If only people would. I'm guilty of it, though, so I shouldn't really speak on that topic too in-depth.

I really hope things turn around.

Compare it to exactly a year ago, that's a playercount drop.

It's basically a playerworld that tries to have multiple playerworlds in one playerworld. Right?

To me it just sounds redundant and I can imagine quantity over quality really playing a role there.

It sounds fun but Stefan won't allow it to be 4 separate worlds. It has to be tied together as a past/present/future thing or basically they are just paying for one server in order to develop 4.

I'm not saying that is what they are doing. I'm just basically warning people who have their mental gears churning that this is not allowed.
