Try running in OpenGL (is that even possible on Mac, lol..)?

I think OpenGL is the only option for Mac, lol.

I admittedly know barely anything about Mac, my knowledge database is mainly for Windows but also a bit Linux.

Macs aren't entirely dissimilar from GNU/Linux. Did you expect DirectX or something?
