Hello, friends! I finally have my own creative freedom to work on a playerworld, and I'm sticking to what I know best. There have been themed playerworlds in the past, though the theme has never been too prevalent. Running around with a gun isn't what I would consider a theme... It's just a bunch of folks running around with a gun.
Land of the Swine may be the first playerworld to stick to a theme... The fact that the theme is pretty wacky with an oddball twist on it should make it all the more fun. All characters, including players, will appear as Swine people. There may also be other races (Chicken, cow..) but I haven't decided on whether to do that or not. Maybe it will be added later.
--- Story Explanations ---
The year is 2105. After the female gender was rendered unable to have children in 2028, man was forced to mate with the next best thing: pigs. Thus they were able to save humanity, however in the process all the new offsprings looked like swines. They stand on 2 feet, and appear as humans except for their distinctive pig features. So I guess it's not really humanity anymore. Swineanity?
Because pigs have no thumbs, or even fingers, their civilization collapsed. It became very tribal, and organic. Only a very few structures from the old world still exist and they are protected like Fort Knox, despite being just simple little dinky buildings and such. The swine people have had a hard time rebuilding society because it takes one pig to squeaze a nail between two hooves while the other pig bangs the nail in with his hoove. It seems like without thumbs and fingers, almost everything is more difficult! X_x
So, the land has returned to the way God intended, although the inhabitants could be considered abominations. Oh well. At least these Swine people can continue their population by mating with other swine people. The way they were doing it in 2028 with normal pigs was a bit gross.
The story will revolve about a mythical being soon to be named, but for the moment he will be dubbed the Colossal Swine. It is the life goal of every little porker to meet with the Colossal Swine, but they have to prove their worthiness by becoming incredible warriors with a thought capacity larger than that of your average folk.
Things that are extremely complex may be simplified in a preschool manner. Things that are very elementary may be taught in "colleges" in the most advanced way imagineable. The swine people are very pretentious and claim immense knowledge but ultimately are not the brightest... Think our modern day in 100 years with everyone going to public school. Yes - scary, isn't it?
--- Adventures and Activities ---
As for quests, there will be a bunch of them. You'll be able to get 20 fullhearts, and there will probably be quests to gain fun NPC items and currency as well. The fullheart quests will probably be more grandiose in presentation than the currency quests, which may be given from NPC characters or whatnot. To keep people from forgetting the storyline and process, there will be a Guide NPC that says what to do next. The quests will most-likely be linear in order to further the storyline in a specific manner. But apart from the main questing, the world will be pretty free. Currency quests will be on the side.
Minigames will be a large part of the fun as well. They probably won't be your typical "pot race" though. People, feel free to submit what you enjoy the most of events. There may be a twist on capture the flag where each time tries to steal the other team's Massive Truffle. There will also be a bunch of other barnyard antics, but the planning for that isn't quite in the works yet.
Apart from the fullheart and currency quests, there will be quests for fun NPCs. Still, something that isn't quite planned out yet.
--- Currency ---
Despite not planning on having anything to buy at the moment except for milk and eggs, there will be a CURRENCY! The currency will be Truffles. After gaining the ability to dig for truffles with your snout, you will be able to collect them. Instead of having spare change (like gold and silver on GK that nobody gives a hoot about) there will simply be the one kind, Truffles. Also there probably won't be a massive amount of this currency.
--- The World, and Development ---
The exact size of the map hasn't yet been set, but it probably won't be TOO large. Most classic playerworlds often make massive maps where players only situate themselves on 1 or 2 levels. Land of the Swine will have a completely detailed overworld, no empty levels, and everything will have a purpose. Players may be able to submit houses but they will have to fit in with the theme and be only one level or so. All buildings will conform to the story theme. Houses will be mainly created with wood and grass-like materials but on the exterior (overworld) and interiors.
Development of the overworld will most-likely be handled by me alone UNLESS I can find level makers who can match or exceed my skills and are dedicated workers.
Scripters - Pretty important, because scripting eludes me.

Still, you've got to impress with your work.
Graphics - Working with sprites, monster development, items, and more. We'll be using pics1 as the tileset.
Levels - You must have great abilities making levels with pics1. Inside AND outside levels, and remember - they must conform to the theme.
