rockjail not quite so cozy anymore?

So I redesigned the rockjail awhile ago on bomyisland...I went with a new theme...before it looked way too "cozy" so i decided to change that up...i mean since when does a jail have grass and benches and trees, then again i've never been to one so *shrug* maybe they do but not in my eyes. I figure since I'm hoping most of you will never see this level in graal i can show it off lol. The rock npcs are not there *NOTE*

Maybe you should have them cast down into a deep pit.

It's cool! the stairs are a tad bit too long though in my opinion.

So anyway, it looks nice and all... Few little things, (including wans suggestion on the stairs)... Circled some errors in red. These are common, and sometimes hard to avoid when you run out of room. But you could of avoided about 80% of them in this level.

In blue is that cliff, I suggest moving it away from the water, either direction would be fine... It looks odd, and throws the whole perception of the elevation off. Actually, just try to make it go north, edit the water if you need room. Even if it moved SW, it would still look like the house is supposed to be on a hill, and slanted backwards... lolAlso, the house. It should be elevated, at least one tile taller, to increase the distance from the bottom window sill(?) to the bottom of the house on the left side of the door. It looks odd, and I pointed it out with yellow font.

I know you are just starting again DV, it's been awhile, but I always liked your style.

Yes I like this style, perhaps a bit more detail needed though imo Overall I like the level, interesting design and such =D

I agree with Excalibur's comments (you probably wanna be called zell since your real name is associated more with excaliber lmao) and I also think you should detail it a bit better. I know it's G2k1 style but still...

Overall it looks alright man.

We'll its a rock jail so I purposly tried to underdetail. I usually detail more than average but I figure i'd try something new. I will agree I'm not totally 100% satisfied with the level.

WDM: I'll look at the stairs.


Excaliber: I'm still waiting on the tileset to be complete lol XD. But I'll edit the cliff some.


I'll post some more levels I've been doin on 2k1 and get some opinions. It's hard truley editing the overworld whilest keeping true to the original 2k1 and "Konidias' Vision". hehe.

Heh, It don't matter to me... I'm going to try and swindle unixmad or ibonic into changing my account name or something, since 'excalibur98890' whatever tarnished my already bad name...

Its all good DV, I won't be in the rock jail too often when its G2k1 is released...

edited a little bit before i have to go run some errands.
-Made the steps shorter (thanks for suggestion)
-Extended the rightside to help throw the perspective illusion better
-Added some crates and barrels to help give that "supply" feeling *shrug*
-Added a little more grass before you walk into pretty much all dirt lol.

I think it looks much better, stairs look more like a ladder now, and the house could go for a +1tile -^ increase, but it looks much better.

That's a good idea actually. It would require too much effort. But at the moment it's like a stairway to heave and forgiveness, it'd be good if you went down stairs to hell and redemption!

i had the idea of a giant panda ...even tho i never ran that by konidias =/ but i guess a ball and chain could be an okay suggestion too
