We are talking about orig. 2k1... the elimination of kingdoms destroyed it.. but it was him!

Actually if you want to split hairs, I think 2k1 went downhill with the absence of Stefan and the presence of Birdbird.

Birdbird is a great guy and funny and nice and all of that, but he was not meant for 2k1 development. He nearly single-handedly destroyed what 2k1 was about. His levels were jungle-like and laggy with hundreds of npcs/graphics strewn about. The level style and graphic style did not fit into the old 2k1 at all. Then he went about adding futuristic things like the laser arena and the zalactic labs and all of that nonsense which sent it even further away from what 2k1 was originally.

When Stefan left, he put 2k1 into the hands of two seperate managers, those being Birdbird and myself. We argued over everything and our ideas clashed greatly and it got to the point where I decided to just leave the server as I had no control over what it was turning into and Birdbird was taking it farther away from what I thought it should be.

After I left, Birdbird eventually hired Kamuii (NOT Kaimetsu... I get the names mixed up), or handed management over to him, or something. (they were good friends) Again, something I didn't really agree with. It never was the same because nobody who took position as manager saw 2k1 for what it was. They had their own version of 2k1... which, wasn't really 2k1 at all, but a completely different server all together.

I want to stay true to the roots of 2k1. The economy will be bigger and better. There will be no staff corruption with the new setup. There will be many more quests and many more items to collect. Improved events that mainly run through a schedule and not just whenever some "ET" decides to run one. Most importantly there will be new features that allow for more fun with the gameplay... such as dashing and blocking sword attacks with shields, push/pull blocks being seen by everyone and not just the player pulling/pushing them, torches/fire that actually can be lit and put out and burn things, more tools that allow for fun things, more creatures in the world, BADDIES, more hidden things to discover, etc etc

There will definitely be roleplaying and it will be encouraged but not required. I'm trying to create an environment in which it makes it easy to roleplay or play the role of a certain person, instead of an environment purely about PKing with no stable economy or actual direction.

One key thing that I'm taking into account is that I don't want the server to have a blend of different styles like it once had. All of the graphics and levels should flow together smoothly and look like they belong in the game. You shouldn't walk into a level and notice something that doesn't seem to fit. It takes away from immersing the players into the world.

What makes you think we were "good friends"?

Oh, okay. So what was my version?

You're completely fabricating this stuff. You're taking advantage of the fact that nobody remembers what happened in those days and weaving a fiction to paint your predecessors as incompetent tyrants. It's even better if the people you're attacking haven't posted on the forums in a while, right? Neither Birdbird nor I have been active here for years - you could invent some close-knit friendship to explain my appointment to manager and nobody would know the difference. Right?

The reality:

I managed 2K1 for a very short period of time, and I quit because it seemed like the only way I could prevent staff corruption was by firing all of my staff. How long do you think I would've remained manager if I'd done that?

During my time, I worked on two things:
First, I improved the interface. I added the 'minimessage' system to replace the awful method of informing the player of something by changing his chat text. I also added a system to allow players to report bugs, because I saw too many old issues that had been ignored because the development team had continually been distracted by new projects. I was eventually going to replace the inventory system, but I wasn't around long enough.
Second, I worked with kingdoms to add features relevant to them and to enact RP events.

I didn't change any levels. I didn't change any gameplay dynamics. You say that I harmed 2K1? Fine. If you're saying it because you think it's true then I'm willing to listen. But I think we both know that you're just playing politics.
