It's relevant in the sense that we have to start work from the bottom up. What's irrelevant is your incapability to assist in these efforts. I actually wonder how insane the first quest release will be now that we can actually release it. Of course, I want to at least have the swamp baddy done for the boss room, though that shouldn't be incredibly hard. All that's left is the entrance scene to the boss room (and uhh... the chests need to be fixed). The first quest, it's a lot more puzzle and a lot less baddies. I'm hoping the guards still work.... I've seen them go haywire before.

Yes, fabulous. We'll now see some progress after a year and two months.

Random, I agree it is irrelevant, too bad no one is suggesting I assist as most of the "incapability" is a general staff hatred toward me.

I'd say fairly insane, because it of course will not work properly, and therefore be a waste of everyone involved's time.

I've seen sample baddies from a year ago, when will we see a real one?

Yes, I am sure chests are very difficult,

I am all for continuing to tear down the basis of classic.

On classic, they won't

I don't see how discussing fixing up Destiny and other things which were a part of Graal classic for a long, long time has nothing to do with this threasd. In fact it supports your concerns, unless of course you have some idea of how Graal Classic should be designed, and without offering a detailed map and description of it, you want to attack people.

I don't understand how hard it is to develop and release re-makes of the old stuff to now.

I mean, the most updated thing I've seen is that movement system re-made over and over.

1/6/05.
Graal the Adventure is down. Classic is up.
3/5/06.
Graal the Adventure is down. Classic is up.

in this year and 2 months, we've yet to see any real development. The developers that we have currently are running out of excuses.

Let's start with Massokre.
"We're waiting until V4 is the only usable client. That way the quests will work for everyone."
V4 is the only usable client. I suppose the lantern quest now works for everyone!
"We have to start work from the bottom up."
Yes, I found this true a YEAR AND 2 MONTHS ago. It is, however, irrelevant today. We need to start working, period.

I'd like to see some intervention at the global level. It's fairly obvious nothing is happening. Massokre is running the show, and he's not doing it well. He should not be the one to shape classic's future, since he doesn't have the ability to do so.

We need a global to take power of classic, and get it on track.

A year and two months isn't exactly new, and that's sluggish and appalling development rate.

I've only been admin since November, and I have rebuilt the entire team from scratch. I've also rescripted the entire movement and damage systems, added a nick system, brought back the AP system, brought back the Spar Rating system, brought back the GUI system, made a database for spar/pk ranks, rescripted the warp ring, scripted two tridents, the hammer, opposite boots, gravity boots, splash boots, hover boots, the movement for beer, the dragoon jump weapon (which was a part of the nations system night gave to me), rescripted all liftable objects and all weapons to be compatible with the movement system (with the exception of staff tool and the GC things that DC is being kind enough to handle the brunt of and report to me what he needs), scripted the shovel, the lantern, scripted a camera system, scripted the shop system (which can't be entirely implemented yet because the food ganis aren't all done), all on my own (except GrowlZ did a bit on the shovel and the hammer... but I rescripted the hammer completely). Exodus has done the majority of the overworld expansion, though I retiled the larger part of the mountain in it's entirety. We've started taking playerhouses again (for the first time since 2002).

Though I've done a lot more than what I've said here, do all of that in less time and you'll earn my respect.

Destiny is in the next overworld expansion and that will include the Destiny Boot Shop. The Silver Trident is going to be the prize for Kull's. The Hammer is going to be the prize for the Gnome Caves. The lvl1 Glove is going to be the prize for the Castle.

You mean, I asked if we could bring back parts of the old tileset (the trees in particular), you just asked Master Storm on my behalf. I suggested to bring the old tileset some months ago.

Seriously, the old tileset looks so much better and gives the player a better feeling. The current one is dark and ****ty.

I don't think that the trees would hurt anything, but there's a lot of tiling right now that bringing back the roads wouldn't really help look good. The N,E,S,W aren't coming back, nor will the old roof decor.

Storm actually gave me permission to manage Classic's Tileset as a separate entity from pics1.png a while ago (esp. when tiles we need don't exist), and I haven't done anything for that yet. Although, now I'm thinking that we actually will put the old trees back.

EDIT 2:

You agree that it's awfully terrible that there has been no intervention on a server with a decent playercount that isn't worth playing?

It's been over a year now. We've had this twisted classic for over a year. So when will it stop, Stefan? Can you claim profits have gone up since the installment of NPC-Server on Classic? Sure, it has a larger playerbase, but it's still trial accounts. The "New" Classic (which is really an oxy*****) is probably bringing profits downward, since there are two quests in which the trials embark to gain the same status has everyone else. Two quick, easy, quests. So what's the point? What MAJOR security risk lies in having a server with no NPC-Server? When has it been possible for people to launch attacks globally from a single server? Stefan, please, just return classic to what it was before the NPC-Server was released.

Many of the players had paid for accounts to play Graal the Adventure. I know I sure did. Whole reason I got my p2p. I've been shortchanged in my payments, since I only got to play it as a p2p for a good 3 months. Those 3 months were unforgettable, and they must remain so for me to have a hope.

Stefan. What advantages are you possibly seeing? The oldbies aren't satisfied with this server. The largest profit potential, the newbies, aren't either. So just bring it back. Bring it all back. Take away the NPC-Server. Give us back our items, our bowling alleys, Babord, Avalon, Nimda. Let us relive these, because Classic is no longer the area to look for profit. Let us have it back.

EDIT: This isn't my first forum account, but my p2p is suffering a permaban for trivial reasons. However, Forum PMs and protest to Stefan himself have yet to work. I thank you for the interjection and warning, but I will have to disregard them.

EDIT 2: Who has asked for conversion, Master Storm?

EDIT 3: I never expected immediate action. I at least hoped someone would contact me so I can convince them or they may convince me as to what would be best for classic. However, none of this is yet to happen. I will dwell further into the bit about Graal making no more money now.

Ibonic has said that graal is in debt. Classic in it's current state is costing GraalOnline money. Not enough people play it, or pay to play it, that it is worth keeping up. Trials who enjoy classic have no incentive to upgrade, since the two quests take up 10 minutes of time, and they're at equal standing with everyone else.

The event that inspired me to start a bridge protest and create this thread happened today, as well. Some guy by the account name Celarion walked up to level14, and started asking questions. He said
"I've been saving up to get a p2p. I used to play pre-p2p. How do I get my old character and stuff back."

Telling him he'd never see it again was a bit painful. This guy surely enjoyed classic enough to upgrade. Perhaps other nooblets will see the light, and follow suit. But first, they need a server that actually requires an upgrade.

So take down the NPC-Server. Add the old levels, all the old NPCs. Don't bother converting them. Just give it back to us.

Classic, R.I.P. 1/6/05

You paid money to play Graal.. that is all Graal Online assures you when you sign up and pay. Every world.. classic, kingdoms, zone, delteria. If you choose to play these playerworlds then you need to understand that the staff have every right to change whatever they want. Stefan and Unixmad do not guarantee that every pw you like will stay 100% the same for you.. so I am sorry.
However, GraalOnline should also feel the need to have a quality server on the Classic tab, not a piece of ****.

Good thing I intentionally misspelled extraordinaire then?

The event that inspired me to start a bridge protest and create this thread happened today, as well. Some guy by the account name Celarion walked up to level14, and started asking questions. He said
"I've been saving up to get a p2p. I used to play pre-p2p. How do I get my old character and stuff back."
Wazza, who is helping greatly, just upgraded from trial this year. He made the new Snow Town and is helping out with picking up the pieces in Destiny. There is more work to be done than you can imagine with getting parts of the overworld back in place. The mountain isn't even close to done being tiled. We redid the Preface Quest (Lantern/Glass Graal) just this past week so that we can move along with a storyline that brings you to the castle. The castle has been near ready for months now, but all the overworld expansion and other tasks are making it difficult to bring up.

Not to mention I have college and a job on top of Graal. I have class as I'm typing this. So I will finish typing later.

I don't see the purpose of calling classic... classic.

Rename it to something else because it's not CLASSIC. Posting updated information about classic is great, but a lot of you are missing the point... it's not classic therefor it doesn't make sense.

In my opinion have jake create whatever he wants, because no one is going to convince him about any of this and the whole argument because he will do what he seems to want. Start a new group to recreate what classic actually WAS. Yes easier said than done, but it's worth a shot.
