Graalv4 Discrimination

Hello, Iam a current player of the Unholy Nation server, and im angered and saddened to say, that there's Graalv4 discrimination over players who are using the newer versions of graal, I personally, think Graal4 is a great new update, and I will re-new my graal gold account once it expires so I can continue to use Graalv4, so I thought to myself, what's the point of even having the old graal exe anymore? so I got rid of it. But what im getting at, is their IS player discrimination for characters using Graalv4, i've been kicked out of over 5-6 events in UN, just because I am using a "newer version of graal" and their only excuse for using it, is that it's "unfair" too other players, saying that it gives me an advantage, how? because my Graal runs slightly smoother than other peoples Graal versions? why should I personally not be able to play Events to furthermore enjoy my stay on UN, just because I have a different version that other players. I would like NeoJenova, and "Mysti" (who shouldn't even be able to be hosting events, considering she's a GP) to be talked to resulting these issues, if at anything they should fix the events, to work with Graalv4, rather than just randomly kicking Graalv4 players. You shouldn't be kicked out of an event just for using Graal4, unless perhaps the event has a bug in it that affects Graal4 users.

The only bug in it, is when you would type in an event called "fallout" where you hit the opponent, when you were hit you wouldn't move, but I didn't type once in that event, and right when it was me vs one last guy, she even saw I was moving when I was hit, but she stopped the game, said "YOU'RE USING GRAALV4" I said "so what, I'm not abusing it" and all I saw, was me kicked out of the event

Graal4 treats players as walls when doing the classic-style hitpush stuff. This is the only difference that you can realistically discriminate against it for. When everyone can use Graal4 there will be no problem with that.

There are events on NP as well that we cannot play on version4...I think they just need to be tweeked to work with the new version. I don't see it as discrimination x.x

The main problem, as Lance mentioned, is that Graal4 treats players as walls, and when you get hit and slide back, Graal4 will stop sliding you when it detects a player blocking you. Graal2 doesn't stop if a player is blocking you, so a Graal2 player may end up on top of a Graal4 player. If that happens and the Graal4 player is hit, he/she will not move because the spot they are in is already a wall. The problem should fix itself once Graal2 is disabled.

Well it's just the problem is that staff don't listen, so someone should possibly goto UN who's higher staff, and tell them to not kick people just because they feel like using Graalv4

Well I said last week that all events must be instantly fixed / v4 enabled or something will happen. It cannot be tolerated. If they feel disadvantaged then they can buy Gold/VIP themself.

Also theirs slightly more logic in graal now, because lasttime i checked you can't walk threw somone. But they should stop complaining and staff should either find away around it, or get a VIP/GOLD.

Now they have no right to kick Graal4 users out of events like 'fallout'. Stefan made it so that Graal4 users are hurt like Graal2 ones.

Unholy Nation staff helped me testing the things so it should be ok now I think. They are really fanatic about those events

Another difference that could be abused is that timeouts aren't stopped while you are paused in v4. So, it'd be possible to use a weapon that spins constantly and hurts in all directions in a timeout loop, pause in v4, and kill everyone without taking a scratch.

This is sorta off topic but hey what the hell figured I give it a shot.

Stefan can you add the option for v4 where you type in the server name like "Reborn Ill" and it sends you to that server. I cant logon to any servers beside the gold,classic,and hosted servers on v4.

Thanks but I tried that. When I type it in I go to click "Play" and it just goes to a different server. (the 1 thats highlighted I guess)

Press Enter, don't click play.

Me, Ajira, and Mania can't really fix scripts since our V4 access was removed.

Are we going to recieve spankings for V4 not working with several of our events?

I personally think that Stefan or someone needs to give every server a Dev server in which they have gs2 enabled. For someone is able to fix scripts before graal4 comes out and classic servers go crazy over how messed up they are.

It works fine for everybody else. Type the name, press enter. The only reason it wouldn't work is if you are typing it wrong. Try just typing the first few letters and press enter, that should make it go to the first playerworld that starts with those letters.

V4 is not available to everyone and hell some staff might not even have it, so I don't see why playerworlds HAVE TO adjust to V4 when they themselves don't even have access to it.

I know I'm not complying, rather I can't comply, alot of V4's will not be able to play in several event's soon because of bugs I have discovered with them and V4 users that make them have an unfair advantage or not function correctly.

My development is put on hold by this as well on our Dev server which is GS2 based and V3 doesn't work with my PC.

Most scripts on classic servers work fine. v4 is compatible with GS1.

Pencil "lead" is graphite, not lead. It's not going to kill you, but if it left a mark under the skin then the mark will probably stay there for a while.

1. In space wars for some reason players with V4 their animations are not replaced after playing 1-2 times

I'm guessing some of those this.blah's are now reserved in V4 to get char props that weren't assigned in V2 ? I know i had problems using a similar sys in GS2 on Dev. Or is it something else?

3. Also lance was experiencing trouble as well as a few other V4 users in the jump n slide event saying that they could not jump the distance that v2 people could nor could they slide through some of the obstacles. NO clue here =D

Well you say it's on old server it's using old scripting but those str's are messing up , well I assume it is them so..
i guess I have to change those strings *sigh* lots of fixing.

this.head, this.body and this.shield cannot be modified since they are already used for the head, body and shield of the current object. Normally that shouldn't be hard to test though, if the server is using old scripting then v4 is using old scripting, if the server is using new scripting then you should normally have Gold/VIP to login to your server.

The properties 'head', 'body', 'shield', 'hat', 'cskin', 'ccoat', 'csleeves', 'cshoes', and 'cbelt' are predefined to the NPC, as in, they exist and can't be modified, somewhat like timevar or timevar2. Adding a 'this' in front of them no longer makes a new variable, as it did in GS1. In GS2, the prefix 'this' only means that the property or variable after it is going to that current NPC or current target, instead of making a brand new var. Yeah, this does get annoying because of some access violation errors that can crash Graal, as I've seen countless times (Like Calani's scripts, for example :P)

Anyway, throw all of your files into a folder and use a program like ArtMoney or something to rename every instance of 'this.head' to 'this.malhead' or something. Or, I could try to learn enough C++ to make a dynamic replacer application thingey.

Make two of them. One in GS2, one in GS1, and have them for v3/v4<3 and v2, respectively. v4 has a much stricter scripting tolerance, so it can't exactly run everything you throw at it, and v3 is just plain ugly. When v2 is disabled, add a script into your ControlNPC that disables v3 as well, and everyone will need to use v4, so yea, that'll eventually solve the problem.

Trying to modify those variables shouldn't cause errors; can you give any examples?
