id like to see bullets done more realistically, and by that i mean faster, and shootable in more than 4 or 8 directions. maybe mouse aimed.
rather than making the bullets move gradually towards the target on the screen, maybe you could try something like checking vectors of shooter to targets. So if person is in the path of a shooter and his reticule when he presses the fire button, he will be hurt almost instantaneously. if theres something in the way, like a mailbox, then he would be covered.
you could make the shooting vary, like a reticule in FPS games. it would get small if your standing still, and be larger if your running and shooting, get larger the farther away your cursor is from your character, or shooting for longer periods. so the vector would randomize a bit.
and im sure you could make some cool gfx for instantaneous gun shooting. since bullets are no longer needed. THe show poly is still non antialiased, but is this changed in g4?
of course this would totally change the way the server works. and im pretty sure atrius is really far into development on their guns. its just a thought.
