Horror Stories.

I, humble Aethorpe, had never truly had the honor of wasting much time on graal kingdoms, and from the horror stories I have heard, I wasn't missing much, but today, I felt the urge to see for myself, in the first few hours of playing, I came across a fellow offering to lend me a suit of armor if I came to his house to pick it up, and well... see for yourself.

Note: Amazingly, these images are unedited, unstaged, and unmodified aside from cutting them smaller for file size, they are in a house which only contains two people, and I assure you, nothing is taken out of context of the situation. I didn't think to screenshot the whole conversation, although I now wish I had, but it came about that he asked me where I got my shield, and I informed him it was a gift from my father, and he asked me who is my father, and if he previously played graal.

Believe it or not, this really happened.

(yes, I know I said "which" instead of "wish", but I was thinking "whichever" and ended up typing "whatever", so give me a break.)

This man was obviously clueless as to the definition of role-playing. Even several minutes into the conversation, the man was oblivious to the fact that I was playing a character, and not speaking as the person at the keyboard.

These kids don't join kingdoms to roleplay, sad as that may be.

I mean, I'm not one of those uber-purists that insists everybody be in character at all times. I just think people should roleplay a little if they're gonna join an institution based around that theme. They should be willing to put some boundaries on how they act and speak.

Wow, I agree with Kaimetsu also.

When I RP, I get very deeply into it also.... Someone should start an RP school though for people who don't know how or when.

I agree on the basis that one of the main reasons that i do not play there often is that I prefer not to role play . There are servers which cater for both interests.

Anybody with a little common sense and reading a few ground rules on a sign can RP if they want to...

The fatal flaw in RP school is that you have to RP to attend the school, pretty much. Unless of course, graduation was a requirement for admittence to a server.

They will not role-play because there are other things that are distracting them. Such as leveling and collecting intangible items of wealth. There are also some minor role-playing problems with the environment. The only role-playing that is being acted out is by the role-playing enthusiasts. To change this, modifications must be done to the server as well as enforcement.

Roleplaying is fun if you get into it, but sadly, most people don't seem to have the knack or the desire.

If you remove the non-roleplaying elements then you'll just make the game unpopular.

I agree, thats why adjustments/modifications would be needed.
