Classic GCs and Unfairness.

After having my request for a simple game of trivia being shot down several times (and just bluntly ignored) I decided to take my complaint to the GC boards (over at http://gc.proboards14.com/).

Now, no one over there seems to have taken my complaint very seriously, perhaps I didn't conduct it in a very professional manor... Which I do admit, is my own fault.

So I decided to talk to the GC Admin, Night, about my complaint and my thoughts on the GC events.

The conversation is as follows (and as Graal logs go, read it from the bottom up.):

Quote:
NightieJamal (Game Coordinator) (7/10/03 8:10:43 PM):
They do some of the times...and I sympathize as I'm on a 56k as well...but the
point is it's what the majority want. As well as there are plenty of non-violent
events hosted through out the day as well. Just have to be on when they're
hosted. There have been a lot of luck events hosted lately due to the dice.
*ShadowFox (Anarchy) (7/10/03 8:07:58 PM):
Yes, but that does not mean that the GC cannot take initiative and pick and
event to do that everyone can participate in.
NightieJamal (Game Coordinator) (7/10/03 8:06:42 PM):
Most of the events we do involve fighting yes...but there are some hosted that
do not partain to it. Such as Dehitay just hosted a fashion show. Most of the
time we host what the people request....that just so happens to a lot of times
involve fighting and running around.
*ShadowFox (Anarchy) (7/10/03 8:06:30 PM):
I do not think it is too much to ask at all for a few games of Trivia a day, or some
other event that doesn't involve a nice connection and a good computer.
*ShadowFox (Anarchy) (7/10/03 8:05:36 PM):
Yes, but it is unfair to the other players who are unable the participate in such
events.
NightieJamal (Game Coordinator) (7/10/03 8:04:56 PM):
As you said....the majority of the players like them.
*ShadowFox (Anarchy) (7/10/03 8:03:58 PM):
Even though the majority of the players might like the spars and the events that
involve running around, and I'm sure I'll like them too once I get back to
Mafukie's house on the broadband, it leaves out players who cannot afford the
nice top dollar computers and $50 a month for a broadband connection.
*ShadowFox (Anarchy) (7/10/03 8:01:00 PM):
GCs always seem to do spars, or other such events that require running around
and doing random things. However, the people who are stuck on crappy
computers and ****ty dialup connections (like me when I am at home) have no
chance at all in these events.

Yeah.
NightieJamal (Game Coordinator) (7/10/03 7:58:49 PM):
No I haven't....is it new?
*ShadowFox (Anarchy) (7/10/03 7:58:00 PM):
Hey did you read my complaint on the GC boards?
Now, I find my complaint, and my request, both to be very valid indeed.

The only events I have ever seen any GC host are either spars or something that requires players to run around.. And as those of you on 56k know, it's rather very hard to spar while you're lagging, and playing against someone who is using a broadband connection.

I am not requesting for these events to be stopped, or even have the number of them slimmed down, I am just requesting for there to be more.. 56k-friendly... events.

I really do not think that this is asking much at all.

Thank you,
~ShadowFox
