Questions.. please read

I have a couple of questions, as lame or whatever you might think they are please answer and help me out.
First off lighting effects.
I never really knew they existed cuz i had them off on Graal, but now i see how much better they can make a level make, but i'm so confused and lost on where/what to do etc. Please if someone could give me a brief tutorial on Lighting Effects.

Secondly, look at pic
lampanimation
in your folders.
How do i select what pic I want? there's 2 and say i just want the left one? What do i do? something in the script i would believe.

Thirdly, how to animate graphics?
I understand this might be a lenghty answer and is not neccasarry... j/w bout them.
