I took Japanese for 2 years and one thing my teacher told me and something that I will never forget is that if you talk to a Japanese person about Pearl Harbor or about the war, they are NOT proud of what they did and don't like to talk about ANYTHING relating to the war.

I belive hearing something on the news that in Japan, thier history books state that the Japanese just flew over to Pearl Harbor, and then flew back. They didn't point out that Japan bombed Pearl Harbor.
