I have always liked the idea of things breaking or becoming faulty. I liked how the unspeakable MMORPG did theres - having people pay to get their items repaired. The more rare and good the item is, the more it costs to fix. This would cause even the rich players to have to worry about money as they all use good weapons and would have to pay larger repaid costs. In addition, faulty items add more strategy to the game as many will need to carry a back up weapon and not just spray shots.

The black market idea imo opinion will not work. Overtime the items that they produce will become numerous in the player economy and players will just buy it from each other. On a side note, i think the idea of having factories that can be taken over would an awesome idea for gangs to compete with each other. It's different than the basic base raiding.
