Though it's not even remotely your decision whether or not to make them a "logging item", I agree with you completely.
People worked forever to get boomerangs, and soon there will be many of them.
When I brought this up before the release, I was basically told "Well, they won't be rare anymore".
Sorry to everyone who spent a ton of money on them, I guess.
