Maloria V3: The New Direction

I'm taking the reins and hopefully we'll push forward here. I'm very excited about what's to come and I hope to God we finish. I also hope you will enjoy the server when we get it done.
A sneak peak of what we are going to offer:
A much simpler system harking back to the days of v1 and Orange Mal.
Open ended character development. Take your character in whatever direction you want.
Wide variety of more balanced items, with a large number being craftable.
Enchant your weapons and equipment with elemental bonuses that help you do and take less damage.
You won't have to level up for hours on end and apply the right points to your stats to have a chance to kill people.
There will be a pseudo-leveling system where you train skills that allow you to get abilities/attacks/spells. You train skills by using a weapon in that category or by using an ability or spell in that category on a monster or another player. There will be small number of skill levels per skill to keep it simple.
Combine abillities/spells to create new abillities/spells (for example a slash attack and a fire spell would equal a fire slash).
There will be no levels, everyone starts out with the same base stats and then as you progress you will get/craft/pickup/buy equipment (armor, weapons, accessories) that boost your stats from there. Some equipment will have skill level requirements though.
It will be more skill based. You will also see the return of health and mana increases via quests/exploring. The focus will shift more to events, quests, and story telling (Worrian vs Daednu).
It's going to be kinda like a psuedo-MMORPG and a Classic server all rolled into one.
