GuiTextMLCtrl.text new line?

in the GuiTextMLCtrl
the .text attribute

neither the <br> tag nor NL such as

textbox.text = "foo" NL "bar";

work to create a new line in the text box ....

so, how do I insert a line break in a gui text box?
