Laser Cannon?

I was wondering what you guys would think of a "laser cannon".

I was playing around with the chaingun gfx, and ended up getting a cool idea. I was thinking something buyable, that's like the chaingun but not exactly like it.

Name: Psi-32
Type: Support
Ammo: Energy/Plasma
Damage (S): 5
Speed (S): (a little faster than bluerifle)
Freeze Time (S): (same as chaingun)
Range (D): (same as chaingun)
Damage (D): 3
Speed (D): (same as handgun)
Freeze Time (D): (same as gravitron)
Range (D): (same as gravitron)
Description: Bought in shops for 7.5k. "S" button makes the weapon fire like a chaingun, but when hit you do not stop shooting. "D" button creates a "wall" of 15 bullets, with the same spread there is on a gravitron. Must have 20k exp or higher to use this. (If when using "S" button, you shoot 150 bullets continuously, your gun will "overheat" and you will have to wait 10 sec to shoot again).

Example;

What do you guys think?

(What I had originally wanted to do was have it shoot "lightning", but I couldn't figure out how I would do those graphics )
