mentioning it to friends might get them to try it out, buying one costs money, and if it becomes popular enough, people may play it for fun or the community.

Fair enough, however.
Buying one costs money, your friends try it out as a trial account, and they like it, so they upgrade to get a classic account and save games, Graal Online gets the return, not you. They got an upgrade, not you. Bottom line is the bottom dollar, and GO Just improved theirs thanks to you.

New playerworlds may end up being clasic servers some day, and thus adding more variety to graal.
I absolutely disagree, you maybe have not been around long enough to know how things work. Its not how good you are its who you know. (No matter what anyone else might try to step in and say).

For example: Alexander held babylon simply because of who he was, not because he was good at it.

Fogles: Thank you for the offer, but Ganis are one of the lowest priority things we needed. We never managed to get much more then the Battle system complete, which I was very happy about myself. Lots of other little things too, probably enough to be much of a hit, not enough to satisfy competetion though.

Malinko: More or less all help was needed, but everyone we brought, found the project to be a bit too complicated. Why work to create something when you can just go somewhere where it is already created and work there, without doing real work. Right?

Finally..

Tom: Clear the air here, you said you would help, and moments later you said.
"No, on second thought I think I am going to quit developing for graal"

Which came a little while after I refused to go by some silly conditions to stuff my human pride and suck up to other people so they will do scripting for me. Which happened to also be the lowest form of help we were searching for.
