Yeah, Layers are the big plus for me with Photoshop... But using translucency on a layer for pixel art = a no-no.

You can use Photoshop alot faster than MSPaint I find... Once you get used to the hotkeys that is.

i use layer translucency in pixel art. you can change the shading hue and depth on the fly with a little slider. its awsome

i understand the need to minimize colors if your making sprites for cell phone games and gba games. but this is PC games we're talking about. Id rather have my file be 1k bigger to keep the quality you would use by cutting down the colors. too much dithering makes it look crappy

I find MS Paint is just all around more user friendly. You can access stuff mouch more quickly, and it doesn't have brushes for el' lazy people. :] If MS Paint had layers, it would be ultimate.

TonyRivers is an unknown quantity at this point
I don't even understand psp7 im a little slow when it comes to programs but I like mspaint for outlines and shapes because I can get a crisp thin line. But I do eventualy want to learn about the layers and stuff. Also im looking for a program like that online pixel board alrid posted. That would be great for drawing concept art because the lines were really thin and when they go diagonal they don't add pixelage..

Also, if MS Paint could handle transparency and the newest file types (maybe even plugins?) it would be the ULTIMATE graphics program (:

What new file types? Plugins are for lazy people, dude. That's was PSP and PS is for.

No, absolutely not. It would probably be the best pixel art program, but not the best graphics program. Everything's not graal you know. xD
