Christmas on PL3 Screenshot

Heh Im working on christmas stuff.You will be able to fight with snowballs, build snow forts, shovel out your enemys fort and get a present at christmas.

This is the only one Im going to release.
I fixed the repeative snow but im on a different comp so ya.

Looks good, i suggest making the squares in the road yellow however.

I like the new screen shot, thought the road is kind of odd, those squares should be more rectangualar don't you think?

Edit: After taking a second look, the street looks better then I thought, only problem I have now is the plants look badly edited with the snow/

Thanks for the compliments , Im progressing very quickly and want to get done as soon as i can, Im waiting for my server to get up and then you guys can expeirnce it too. Some more things I did was record some sounds like a coin dropping and i made a sound the says Welcome to Click's Pharmacy, im thinking of incorperating some sounds into the GUI and server.

In my off again/on again (Smart enough to never announce), I've thought about voice acting on main storyline. As I said, on again/off again and not progressing.

On Topic: Nice. I hope you can make it less murder/thug oriented, and take away Era's straight cornered style.

Yes, he has stated some of his goals for the server in other threads, but he was rudely bashed as being another "Era-ripoff." Meh..

I read hat also, and it seemed to head towards that. That's why I hoped he could make it like that to not only prove me and others wrong, but to bring something new.

Idea: You can explain away the truth however you want, but it doesn't change it.

Just because you give it a different story/theme doesn't mean that the graphical style isn't copied from Era.

Oh, and that explains stealing a graphical style? Hardly. A building can be represented in many different ways; so can a street. The simple fact is that people are getting lazy, and instead of having their own vision for how something looks, they're taking something already existing and very, very, very slightly modifying it.

So you're saying that everyone who uses cliffs in levels faked it off <random name here>, and Graal, using an edit of Zelda tiles is also one big copy? And anything looking similiar to any pics1.png tiles is a copy too?

Most of Era was GoDelphs crappy photoshop tiles. There other tiles are basic pixel , anyways it doesnt even matter as long as there not the same.

FYI: Pixel is just a 1x1 colour added together to form a picture. Not really a style, unless your pushing isometric looks.

No. Think with your brain rather than with other parts of your body, please. Era was the first of its kind, a new style brought to graal. Since then, several servers have cropped up mimicking the style.

HOWEVER... I believe ALL playerworlds should get a chance... even since the pics1.png came out, people have been using the multiple housing technique( houses on houses) forests of trees, huge cliffs, beaches, and items that look the same but aren't have been used and used and used... so when a new tileset comes out... it's gonna be used and used and used... "knowledge belongs to the world" (antitrust, the best damn recent geek movie... Tron being the best overall damn geek movie

*shrug* There's a difference between tiling techniques with the standard graal tileset and making a server with a style which copies a brand-new, never-before-seen-on-graal style.

Actually, stealing Era's concept does matter. Though your pixel style is quite different (in this case 'simple'), it still has more than just a hint of Era in it.

Well when I'm not helping Zone I work with NyT and Sess on AI Crest...

We look too much like Era now for my liking, but I have a lot left to do.

As for the tileset ThrashSoul was showing, it doesn't look a lot like Era's, it's scalled smaller and not really shaded enough.

And Era barely used any shading,

<3 for Fallout! (GUI and Car look awsome and remind me of Fallout) But everything else is pretty meh.

That looks nice bloo kat. Except I don't like the blocked sidewalk, looks very era-ish. Then again, you said you had a lot to do so we'll see how it turns out.

Well, a lot of it needs to be redone.. In the time I've worked for Zone I've gotten a lot more practice with GFX, and learned 2 new animation shortcuts :P

And 3 Shading techniques, so when I get back to working on AI Crest it should change a lot.. But yea it is bland..

I know what a style is, Lance. The types of tiles are pretty much the same, but the detailing is completely different in tileset. So I wouldn't say it is an outright copy..But, it does seem like thrash might used Era's template as a guide..I dunno, I'm not an expert in art..

Not to mention thrash is probably no where near being done so it may change in the future..
