Leave ship

I think we all know the problem - you board a ferry/ship, sail to another island, hit the leave-ship-button, and get back to the kay you entered - i.e. you last saved your restart point. So you learn to save on a kay at your destination, no big deal, but I think it's kinda silly... you sail to an island, someone comes aboard, hands you stuff, you hit 'leave ship' and are instantly back where you came from - for free. Shouldn't it rather say something like "it's too far away, try a dock a little closer?" Certainly, you shouldn't be able to leave ship everywhere, but this behavious isn't just annoying the first time but also kinda ilogical and un-rp-ish...

leave ship is in case your boat gets stuck on land, or you're stuck in the boat, etc.
Also, if you get off a boat, even to pick some items up, your restart position is saved now, and if your friend comes onto the ship to give you stuff, then he just lost 5 plat.(well, if on ferries.)

Meaning you can get off anywhere you want, even without a kay? If so, I missed something °°

yes before the bells were removed there was this thing to get to the bell isle on samuarai so people would just go onto a samurai docks then just ring the bell go to main isle. go onto a boat and leave. but bells are removed so it doesnt matter.

No, the only place you can get off of at are docks and if you get off, those docks are your new restart position.

Yeah, I know - but what I mean is when you're at another island's coast but your restart point is still the dock on main, you hit leave ship, you're back on main - at least it was so the last time I missed the dock in Dustari. So someone could indeed give you stuff, for free if on a boat and not a ferry, and you could just warp back to main... °°
