GMAP Usage

Are we allowed to use GMap's on PW's? Anyone know for SURE??

I think you can use flat Gmaps, But you need Stefan's permession to use 3D Gmaps. I belive G_Yoshi got permession to use 3D maps.

without direct permission from stefan, only FLAT gmaps are allowed
what you are allowed to have on the flat gmap

GRMAP001 - tells graal its a gmap
WIDTH # - width in levels
HEIGHT # - height in numbers
GENERATED <level> - the last level that would be generated, like mystuff_a-05.nw
and yes, to my knowledge i am SURE that is correct

Heh, I never played w/ GMaps, they are more levels than scripting. So could you tell me how I would incorporate one? From what I heard the usage is the same as regular maps as far as the txt goes except like: load [map]; or something or other?

a 3d gmap is '2k2 style' aka terrain
in a flat gmap, all the groundheights are set to 0

I had permission, BUT he's not too fond of it even once you get access. In my opinion they suck, because your PW will just look like a ripoff of 2002. That is, of course, unless you make some new tiles for it.

So what exactly is the difference between a Flat Gmap and a .nw level? Is a Gmap larger?

Yes a GMAP can be any length, better for scripting capabilities.

graal like combines all the levels into one BIG level, that is why sometimes people lag when loading a gmap
