NPC Website?!

I have recently setup a server (shifter.zapto.org) that I run off of my dedicated line. I was experimenting with a few things, and I thought it would be nice if we had an NPC Website. Somewhere to be w/ just scripters, learn to script, look @ the scripts of others, submit your own scripts and what not. What do you think about it? I can setup FTP and CGI, MYSQL, PERL, and PHP and any other languages you might find useful to use on it. The FTP is already setup, and it takes about 5 seconds to add in another user. So is this a good or bad idea? And if it is a good idea, would anyone be willing to help set it up or with some scripting guides or anything? I can change the link l8er to something more fitting, but i just setup the redirct temporarily. I would like to see this go through if possible, but if it is a bad idea let me know. Anyone who is willing to help can be given FTP and rights to change things if wanted, and I will be sure to make daily backups.

I dont think that is a good idea at all, since we already have a forum :-/

So...save your computer before it gets hacked from some lamer that browses these forums, and take that down, lol.

With my knowledge of pearl I could probably set up individual accounts with their own set space and have them be able to upload tutorials and take them down, etc. there is no need to give idiots FTP. becasue who knows what could happen. You dont want FTP access frivilously given out. people are stupid, believe me. And you'll probably come across an itio who give out his FTP password and someone makes a scrip to crash your server.

Do you want the script i was working on to docoment all the graal script commads? its MySQL driven & easy to set up... it just needs a few thing done to it but it works lol

2. I have a cable modem, uncapped

And being hacked will not be a problem. I am VERY good @ security, as I have broken into systems previously. I have not done anything in a VERY long time, but I know how it is done, and I have instaled a VERY good firewall. Falcor, PHP you say? Hrm... I would be VERY glad to have your help. Not giving out FTP would seem like a better idea, he he, i like it, how long would it take you to do it? I can give you FTP axx immediatlye. It takes 10 seconds to write:

lol! Thanx for the help, if anyone else would care to help it would be great. The Forums are just a place to talk and see what is gonig on. The website will have all kinds of already done scripts, tutorials, and stuff to teach newer NATs and help older ones with their scripts. So it would be greater than the forums, but not quite ment to replace them.

It would take a while to write up an Admin CP. Since im a little rusty at perl now. (stupid graal scripting ruins your brain)
Ill have to look at a book to refresh my memory, but perl is a really simple tool to make admin CPs and stuff of that nature with.

That would be HELLA cool. As i'm in no rush, do not worry about slaving over your keyboard working on it

I have been steadily working on my latest NPC that has many layers to it. It combines all the mouse commands and the new shoot command. I am hoping it will turn out pretty good, and I plan to give it away to a server if anyone really wants it. But I will be sure to include it in the new site. I put up a temporary page that states that i have not yet completed the site.

I do not see when you have PHP why anyone would use perl, ewwwww. I am all PHP.

I would help, but it looks like these two have offered...I made something leet...well many leet things...anyway best of luck if u need ne thing fpm me.
