only problem with that if we pay, then they should be able to go as fast as if they were on the track

Bah. If you got a cable modem, you can just turn the modem off, drive through the level that takes away your kart, then turn it back on once you get out of the level. It works. Graal doesn't kick you off either unless you go slow at doing it.
