Era Mall

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am planning on reviving Era Mall, this is what I have so far.

New features:
  • Everything in your mall stand is controlled from the computer.
  • In order to sell an item, you right click the box and click sell.
  • You can cancel a sale at anytime.
  • When changing an item you want to sell, the quantity auto updates to the maximum amount of items you have and from there you can choose how many you wish to sell.
  • You can also rent the stand for any amount of time you wish, the maximum is two hours.

  • This is what your stand could look like, each stand will have it's own style.
  • Each stand will have six hot spots.
  • When hovering over items that are for sale, you'll see an item name with a price and quantity. If you have the price set to zero, the item will be listed as not for sale.

This is what your inventory will look like, only certain items can be sold. For the most part, only guns, weapons, hats, and a handful of other items can be sold. In this window you can also set your price and quantity.

One of the random features I've added is the option to let your friends hang out with you in your mall stand.

Anyway, this is what I have done so far, I started a whole new system and if anyone has a cool idea they'd like to be implemented, let me know.

Why are you using a glass window effect on an interface? Looks kind of odd.

Yes, it will refund and no you will not be able to dupe. This is a new system built from scratch, and will be correctly tested.

Well, when I was first making the GUI it looked cool, but I see your point.

Hmm, easily done.

This. Plus, you're not actually dropping any items, so there shouldn't be a problem.

2 hours max? laaaame.

This is clearly not an attempt to allow people to sell stuff while they're offline because, 2 hours isn't nearly enough time. So, you made another system that people will use for a week and then forget about XD

Massing to sell your items still has more advantages over your mall system than your mall system has over massing.
-Everyone sees your mass
-Massing is free
-You can put anything you want in your mass
-You can take offers rather than setting a price
-You can do it for more than 2 hours

Make it 2 DAYS max, and it'll be useful XD

I can always change it, it's just not that important right now during the bug testing phase.

I know for a fact I have my mass messages turned off. It might just be a small handful of players who do also, but I don't like to get spammed with little blue message bubbles all over my map and constantly hear that annoying message sound.

Well since you went with the mall route, making it based in a single location that people have to go to to see what people are selling, rather than just opening up an auction house interface wherever they are, there are certain inherent flaws that make it less useful than it could be.

Well I can add advertisement board features so you can see everything that's being sold in all mall stands. You could even search for specific items. The plan is to put the mall at unstick, so I don't see how it won't be used.

I don't know about you, but If I was making a system that was designed to allow people to buy and sell stuff conveniently, I wouldn't put arbitrary limits on it, such as where they have to be to do it.

You can turn that "annoying message sound" off anyways. Plus i love hearing that sound, cause it is tuned for PMs, so i feel special when i get one.

if ur mass messages r turned off it means u don't give a **** about era's economy therefore the mall shouldn't affect you in any manner

Why not just turn Era Mall into a player-driven auction house?

Think WoW's auction house.

Looks like it's coming along great since you first showed me your base idea.

Can't wait for it to come out, hopefully if it is positioned close to Unstick then it will become a new hangout and idle place, making it easy to sell weapons and get your merchandise out there.

Totally waiting for further updates on progress.

It should be a PK zone. Like malls IRL.

Well, it will be positioned right at unstick me. I've replaced those three buildings and decided to put a really big mall there. In the mall, the normal shop would be inside, along with the tutorial, era radio, skateboard shop, spars, and finally mall stands. The goal is to fit everything I consider important in to one building.

Those new tiles are they already out? I am wondering why I still see the old tiles, I've seen screenshots of people with those new ground tiles and I don't have them.

~5k a day is pretty pricey, I could always just sit in the mall (hell, even at unstick) and say "Selling: Mp5, S6, etc." as well as send out some mass messages for free.

Well the default price is set at $200 an hour. So... what are we thinking $100-150? Keep in mind that I won't be taxing items at all.
