I like your work, it all reminds me a lot of SNES games - especially FF6.

That's a lot easier on the eyes, but something seems out of place. Some of the tiles are different styles, the pavement compared to the dithered rocks you have on the houses.

No coincidence, I made those a bit ago and recylced them into the new tiles.
They were in my lil sheet of bad tiles I posted earlier.

The difference between them is improvement. I still like the circle stone pattern, but maybe I should remake them from scratch..

Thanks, actually I've never played it. But from the few screenshots I have seen of it, I love the complex architecture and adore the cliffwork in it..

The left set of tiles looks better, the right one looks like it's popping out.

Think you should tone down the red color a bit in the town tiles.

I actually like the show of red as long as the characters for this cute town are up to par in eye-grabbing it should be alright.

Using red for the roof and for the ground is, in my opinion, a bad idea. Roofs are going to be taking a majority of the screen space, and what's left is going to be occupied by a similar shaded ground tile? That just screams problematic, I think.

Ah, I see. Perhaps a brownish red would look better for the floor? Or is that still a bit too close?

Been busy lately,
But here is what I did in my spare time tonight, its a WIP remake of the swamp dungeon from earlier... Im really lost about the flooring... The stone floor, is rather griddy, I kept chaning the positions of the brighter stones in hopes of fixing, but all to no avail.. The blackness with a border is were I need to put a unique pattern like in the first tiles for this dungeon... But I am rather tired now...

The texture on the floor is a bit repetitive.

And also it doesn't seem like much of a floor texture.

another thing that i've noticed is that you keep putting your light source to the left.
which isn't a problem, as long as you're consistent, but it keeps creating these weird visual effects where it look like the left sides of objects are longer or slightly higher than the right side.

Well at first it had way less noise, but then I noticed how it appeared as if the bricks stuck out way to much then they should, so I applied noise... maybe it was a bad idea...

I think it looks much better without the noise, it looks sharper and since you used so much noise on it, instead of looking like degraded brick, it just looks like a degraded image.

The bricks with noise seems to have more of a gloomy dungeon feel. As if the walls were covered with something that blended them all together.

The bricks without noise seem much more defined. Almost a brand new look that would fit a royal castle or something.

Although in this scene I agree with Maximus, it fits better when it is more defined.

I was kind of thinking of having the noisy on the inside and the normal one with a palette change and different frame for outside... But if you guys believe the less noisy one is better, so be it.

Well now seeing it the other way, I rather like it without so much noise.

You don't have to scrap the second one though, you could define the noise a little more and turn it into moss

...Those house tiles, are you and clockwork collaborating on something?

Just a quick edit on the stairs

Something like that would probably look good

I agree about the stairs with Clockwork.
I feel when I look at them it's more like a flat bridge of some sorts rather then stairs, It lacks that appearance of elevation unlike smirt's edit.
